the Capitals are gone :D :) :P  it should be an interesting offseason in D.C.

Paul I agree 100% Boucher is done. I really don't know why Laviolette let him start that game. I would have started Bob.

the play Thornton made to get the puck in the zone and the pass to Setoguchi showed how determined Joe is to show he can be a Playoff performer.

So Winter Classic steak ends as well with Caps done. now.

Yeah, will be interesting to see what the they do in DC. Great regular season team, but a bunch of stiffs come playoffs. Easy to win during regular season when most teams and players are not going all out most of the time. I'd fire BB and try and change the mix. Caps just have way too many of the same type of players. Weak D, that gets exposed in playoffs. I'm not sold on the goalies either. Balls, Defense and goaltending when in playoffs. Oveckin was solid, just too bad he is stuck with so many over paid floaters on that team.

I think it's a given that Boudreau is gone but I think they also need to let McPhee go as well.

Ovechkin did have a solid Playoffs but he just can't do it on his own. Backstrom and Semin both disappeared as did the defense. they worked so hard to change their game to a defensive one but it just didn't come together against the Lightning and they couldn't put pucks in the net.

I think Holtby is the answer in goal and should get a shot at the starting job in training camp.

Tampa's 1-3-1 had the same effect on the Caps as it did on the Pens. we will see how the Bruins or Flyers deal with it in the ECF.

this is the 2nd consecutive year that the Pens and Caps have been knocked out by the same team.

Preds better shoot the freakin' puck and rush the net when they get in the Canucks zone instead of trying to be so fancy. If they don't win tonight I'm afraid our little slice of playoff fun will soon be over.

Go Preds!

Canucks take very commanding 3-1 lead over Nashville. Maybe this is finally the Canucks year after all???

Ill tell ya one thing though, that scare the Canucks had at the hands of Chicago, sure "quieted" down all the Nucks fans at my work, lol. While they are extremely happy that the Nucks have a 3-1 lead, they are no where near their "Beaking" and "Glotting" selves, that they were when they had a 3-1 lead on the Hawks.

Oh and GO LIGHTNING!!! That's who im cheering for now since my Flames and Penguins are long gone from the playoffs now.

I'm rooting for San Jose. I figure if the Hawks are out of it, it would be fun to see Niemi win another Cup. Plus San Jose isn't Detroit or Vancouver.

Also, Alexander Ovechkin is LeBron James.

LeBron did win a championship in High School...

and it's LeBron's MOM who acts up off the court, not LeBron himself. Ovi does it all by himself!

the Red Wings have a 2-0 lead thanks to Bertuzzi and Lidstrom.

-----------------------

Lidstrom gets his 2nd goal and it's was a Power Play goal to make it 3-0

Logan Couture gets the Sharks a goal a few seconds later 3-1 now.

-----------------------

Kyle Wellwood pulls the Sharks within 1 at 3-2.

Some really brutal officiating in this game. Blatant interference and holding the stick against the Wings are not called, weak penalties on San Jose are.

I agree the refs have missed several obvious calls on the Red Wings tonight.

This game is a good example of the difference the last two years for San Jose. And I think Niemii's presence calmed them down early and play it one at a time, and then you look up and it's tied, probably headed to OT again. For the second straight game, the Wings dominate most of the play and are one shot away from going home. Great effort for SJ, win or lose!

BTW, thanks to the game-time and Networks mess, I am "blacked out" from watching either game.

Ugh. Was hoping the Sharks could hold the tie until OT to regroup. Didn't happen tonight.

Strong effort from both teams.

That was the kind of game Nabokov would have given up a couple more goals early to make any comeback impossible. Really impressed, even with it being a loss...
