Or not.

Vancouver wins 4-3, they're up 2-0 in the series going into Chi-town.

It's not a series until someone wins a road game. We can hold serve in Chicago, and go back 2-2 would be great. Our top line needs to perform, as they have been basically on lockdown for two games. Chicago couldn't get the good matchups tonight vs. The Sedin line for some reason. They won the game for the Nucks.

Any news on Bickell?

Only thing I could find this morning.

ESPN Chicago said:
Bryan Bickell left the game in the third period with an apparent hand injury. Quenneville said he should "present OK" on Saturday when the Hawks will know more on the extent of his injury.

I went to the Pens Bolts Game 2. great pushback game by the Lightning tonight.

the Pens defense played terrible in the 1st Period. Kris Letang committed a turnover at center ice that led to a 2-1 that resulted in the first goal. Paul Martin made 2 awful turnovers that led to 2 goals. both times he left Fleury out to dry.

the Penguins also took too many penalties tonight and gave up 3 power play goals.

the teams have Saturday and Sunday off and Game 3 is on Monday.

what was the vibe like in the arena? any chance Engellend gets in a game? I know Tampa is softer than tissue paper, so he really isn't needed against them.

the crowd was very electric until it was 2-0. it got very loud after Craig Adam's made it 3-1 but with the late goal in the 2nd to make it 4-1 all the electricity was gone. people started leaving with 5 minutes to go. I realize the game was over but I never understand why people leave early. stay and support your team.

as for Engelland I doubt he will get a start in this series. although I would like to see him in there instead of Matt Niskanen I doubt Bylsma agrees.

I never got that either. Using the traffic arguement is kinda dumb because you knew there was gonna be traffic in the first place. When I go to a game in Philly, even after a loss, I always stay til the final buzzer and to catch the 3 star selections.

But then again, I'm never in a hurry to leave because I'm always autograph hunting in the parking lot after a game.

I like Phoenix in game 2. I think they will learn from their mistakes in game 1.

Kinda ironic though. Last year with all the controversy of the Coyotes being bought and moved and this year they're in the playoffs. Kind of a feel good story. I don't think they'll win the series, but it says something about the team.

NHL needs to pull it's head out of it's ass in US. Philly-Buffalo looks like a great first period. 6 goals a fight, Bob pulled already. But no one gets to see it. Why NHL network is not showing games in the states is mind boggling. I wish ESPN had rights. They used to get all playoff games on TV.

ESPN couldn't give 2 squirts of piss about hockey.

The morning after the last day of the regular season, they did a 30 second segment on the Western Conference matchups and a 5 minute segment, including an interview, about the highly anticipated top pick in the WNBA draft.

Contrary to the 3-3 score after 1, the Flyers are playing like **** on the defensive end. All 3 Buffalo goals were because of HUGE mistakes that you can't afford to make ever. If the Flyers manage to win this game, I'll definitely be surprised.

When ESPN did have NHL contract they covered it very well and had doubleheaders on both ESPN and ESPN 2. I agree now they don't care about hockey at all. If they had rights they would treat it much different.

Whether it's right or wrong, ESPN's lousy coverage of the NHL is due in large part to its' not having the broadcast rights anymore. Their non-game coverage would definitely increase if they got the rights back. It's just a matter of IF the league is willing to take less $$$ in the short-term for more exposure. Personally, I would like to see it back on ESPN and have them co-run the otherwise Lame NHL network, kinda like TSN does now. Heck, there was rumors about a year ago that IF they got the rights back they would start another network, with the Main focus being Hockey, college and Pro and "action sports" in the summer. Plus, I'd love to see NHL 2nite return as a regular, every-nite show.

I loved ESPN's coverage when they had it. I have a lot of great memories of watching NHL 2Nite and seeing Gretzky score his 802nd goal on an ESPN telecast.

My point behind what I said has nothing to do with rights. They don't even report on games. They have highlights of every MLB, NBA, and NFL game across 3 different channels. You're lucky to see 3 NHL games covered on SportsCenter during the regular season unless it's a big matchup involving a couple big name players.

The NHL won't offer what ESPN wants and ESPN won't take less for a sport they've gotten along fine without for years now.

Every time I flip on NHL network it seems last thing they show is current playoffs. Doing some piece in black white on NYR hockey. Just brutal. Well now Bruins are on Nesn here.
