SAFE (dayng) (not sure how you can give any pitcher that risk factor???)

Thanks. It's my understanding they gave the "Safe" grade to fewer than 10 of the 900 players in the book.

If you want to find out who the rest of them are, go for it. I'm kinda curious.

Any guesses from you who they are?

That would be fun.

My first guess was Teheran.

I was wrong, he's Low.

bubba 75 Extreme

Now that's a surprise. Starling is an extreme risk? The best athlete in the entire 2011 draft?

I see they let four of BA's staffers create top 50 lists - in the past, it was three.

Thank you. Did springer happen to crack top 50 on any of the 3s list?

Normally, you'd assume the "Safe" grades would be found amongst most people's overall top 5 prospect lists, but I see Moore appears to be the only one who fits that criteria. Darvish, maybe? (you can find his scouting report in the Appendix at the back).

I wouldn't be surprised if a couple of these "safe" guys were prospects amongst some teams' #25-30 range.

There's just no telling how BA's collective mind works.

It makes sense really, its a whole lot SAFER to say that someone will be mediocre than that someone will be a HOF'er.

Mud,

can you shoot me the info on Javier Baez.

thanks

skrip

65 High (higher celing than #1 Brett Jackson)

Comps to Hanley and Sheffield, noted possible need to have to move off SS if he loses a step, noted strong enough arm for 3b, RF, or even CATCHER.

Personally not surprised one little bit. Dude is great athlete. Is he a refined hitter? How many great athletes absolutely went down in flames? A TON. Not saying that will happen, but he is certainly a risk......

Reminds me a bit of Billy Beane's story
