I'd be interested in knowing Sonny Gray's & Jarrod Parker's info and if Gray made anyone's top 50. Thanks.

Could you please post ceiling and risk for Rymer Liriano, Joe Ross, Austin Hedges, and Cory Spangenberg.

Also, what was Rymer's highest rating on the top 100s?

Thank you, appreciate it.

They are currently being shipped out. Our own Mudcatsfan, who lives in Durham where they are published, has already picked up his copy and will be available to answer your questions later tonight.

Just to remind you all - the Handbook has two new features this year.

1) Each player has a "ceiling" grade, from 20-80 on the scouting scale.
2) Each player has a "risk factor" scale, which ranges from "safe" to "extreme".

Where was Profar ranked for the 4 guys top 50?

Dennis Raben (SEA)
Mark Sobolewski (TOR)
Blake Tekotte (SD)
Jemile Weeks (OAK)-might not qualify anymore
Yonder Alonso (SD)--might not qualify (was on CIN)
Harold Martinez (PHI)

bubba 75 Extreme

Now that's a surprise. Starling is an extreme risk? The best athlete in the entire 2011 draft?

I see they let four of BA's staffers create top 50 lists - in the past, it was three.

Personally not surprised one little bit. Dude is great athlete. Is he a refined hitter? How many great athletes absolutely went down in flames? A TON. Not saying that will happen, but he is certainly a risk......

Reminds me a bit of Billy Beane's story

Agree completely, I'm not surprised at all. His athleticism alone may only make him a 30-40 grade as a player. The bat has huge potential, as shown by the 75 ceiling, but it is very questionable whether he will ever reach his full potential.

Looking forward to picking up a copy of the book.

Does anybody know if there is an electronic version of this book, I can't hold books and I doubt my caregiver is going to want to flip through this type of reading LOL.

I want to spark interest in the book while sharing our love for prospecting and the great work Baseball America does. If you haven't ordered your copy already, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR????

I'll wait and save $13 by ordering it from Amazon. If I were a prospect flipper, overpaying $13 for the info around 28 days earlier might be worth it, but I enjoy the book as a baseball fan so I can wait for it to come into stock at Amazon.

I wish BA would quit putting out the book so early (or offer a free downloadable update for those like me who buy the book) because it's outdated by the time the MiLB season opens. They should release it more like March 1-10th.
