So if Brian and Adam are no longer posting, can we get rid of the Razor Dev forum? I hate having to go back and forth between here and there when discussing/reading about their products.

Who said Adam was no longer posting?

They both said that.

Must've been in the missing thread, then. Great job, haters.

Yea, it was such a dumb progression of events in that thread but can't do anything about it now. I'm sure they will still remain available through email and phone so who knows what will actually happen

This is not the first time they promised not to post any longer.

Yes, but it is the first time their accounts have been disabled.

This just pisses me off to no end. We finally had representatives from a company who had an active role in posting and answering questions, only to have the negativity and cynicism win out in the end.

Did Brian deliver everything that everyone wanted? No. But people continue to forget that Razor is a company in its infancy when producing baseball products, and that they are learning as they go. But apparantly that just wasn't enough for several people here.

I hope they change their minds eventually, but now I understand how people (not just company reps) get disenchanted with posting on message boards.

Being able to deal with the negativity is part of the business.

100% correct.

Message boards should be used as a market/development tool. I wished they would start a thread/poll to seek answers or ideas and not post in them. They seemed to get in discussion that always went south.

So now all of the reps that used to post on FCB are done? I know the Topps Rep stopped a while back.

They were too quick to defend themselves which just caused more negativity.

Just seemed like they had a little too much A-Rod in them in that they wanted to address every criticism and comment with an explanation that ended up often being taken as an excuse. The forum of a message board breeds criticism and comment so its not shocking that it would lead to this.

I feel like they could have stuck around if they simply chose to selectively respond to legitimate comments and criticisms while ignoring the conspiracy theorists and so called "haters."

Being able to deal with the negativity is part of the business.

I understand how positive and negative comments run hand-in-hand, but in practically every single Razor-related thread we got the same overwhelmingly pessimistic comments OVER AND OVER AGAIN. And it didn't stop -- these threads just went on and on. Little wonder why Brian finally got tired of hearing this broken record playing the same old swan song.

Double edge sword for the mods as well. Lock the thread and you are on their side, dont lock the thread and you are not controlling the populous on FREEDOM Card Board.

I think the people who like Razor are just as much to blame. Often someone would post a critical comment about Razor that had merit only to be dismissed by certain board members because they labeled them as a "Razor Hater." The reality is both sides had valid points and no one was willing to objectively listen to the other camp's argument. If I was Brian I would of stopped posting here a long time ago because of all the garbage.

All I wanted to know is what would have made Distinction such a high end product? What were they going to do with it that would have made it so high end? I tried to come back to the thread and see if anyone answered my question and of course its gone because people can't control themselves on here.

I'm also pretty disgusted by Razor. Not because of their product or because of what they are doing in the baseball card industry, but because Brian and whoever else he has on this site now continue to get themselves into the same situation on here. Time after time I keep seeing how they are not going to post on here anymore because of X and Y, but how they are still "the only card company that will listen to its customers!" Someone then says something that they don't like and then they run away and tell everyone that they can no longer post on here anymore cause it will ruin their company.

If they had any smarts, they would have stopped the first time it happened and not gone through the trouble of having a private Razor Lounge created. They didn't stick to their Lounge so of course, the same thing happened once again. Genius.

+1

Before sig series was released people would pile on anyone who asked a question saying crap like "wait till its released till you talk bad about it" then it became "you are a troll, hater, michael moore lover" most of which was fueled both publicly and behind the scenes by people who should be worried about other things. Will this stop? Probably not as long as people are speaking from both their wallets and hearts on both sides.

The thing that really sent a lot of people (including me) off the deep end was to read the original post in that thread that said they were canceling Distinction due to the economic climate, only to see that 6 pages in, the reason for canceling it was because it would hurt the value of prior releases.
It sucks that they can't post anymore, but I don't think people getting angry was completely without merit.

This was their original floor plan:

* Every card (including base) will be serial #d to 50 or less.
* All on-card autos
* Each pack will contain 5 cards:
1 Base
1 HOF Cut Sig
2 Autographs
1 G/U

I gave Razor a chance, but the whole "metal" thing turned me sour on them.
