From their Instagram -

Note they're asking us what product to put it in.

It should be noted they didn't sign him to a MLB deal until after Topps Chrome had released.

So, should they give it away, put it into an upcoming product, what? If you have Instagram, let them know.

I'm sure many are outraged at their timing.

This could be another blunder by topps.

We know that card will sell for crazy money and be highly sought after.

Obviously it couldn't be included in topps chrome but I'm sure many people will expect it to be a similar priced product.

What happens if it's in five star or dynasty (that or bowman best my guesses)?

People might go ape crazy because it "should" be in a low priced pack not something that costs a car payment.

Realistically, it should be in draft but what motivation would that be to topps because they never have problems selling boat loads of that issue.

Bowman best is probably the best option if you're topps.

Yes it's not $4 but that card just seems to "fit" in it because Best was a prospect/ rookie brand for a decade.

2016 Topps Season Opener. That's where it should be slotted into.

have a 2015 topps chrome wrapper redemption - xx number of wrappers gets you one entry into a drawing for that card. ;)

That had crossed my mind , but you can't at this time IMO. Too many case crackers etc would be pissed since their wrappers are probably gone by now. Not sure what the answer is, but I am not sure that is the right route at this time.

I was thinking Topps Update. Should be in pack out soon and would keep it in the same year, close enough brand.
Unless Topps is gonna do those Crome Update packs again then that's the obvious choice

2016 Topps Series 1

Too easy

Except that isn't the same year and isn't a prospect brand. So those who but Chrome aren't ones who really but base Topps. An update set from this year, maybe, but pushing it into 2016 and a non prospect set, I don't think so, but that's only my opinion.

Topps Chrome isn't a prospect release. There isn't a single prospect in it.

And the different year thing has never stopped Topps before...

With amount of 2016 series one topps produced, you'll have better odds of finding an aflac Kris Bryant little league auto in a pack of 1991 Fleer.

Let me rephrase Prospect to Rookie Autograph release. And again , that was only my opinion and I don't like them moving it into a different year, that's not to say they won't and haven't before.

So, we needed the RC rules because it was confusing to collectors.

We needed fewer brands because it was confusing to collectors.

We needed fewer products because it was confusing to collectors

...but this isn't confusing to collectors? Really?

Here's what Topps is doing, in case you couldn't figure it out. They're making sure every one of their products sells out and stays popular on the secondary market. Why would they put 2013 Bryant autos in 2013 Draft or 2014 Conforto autos in 2014 Draft? Because those products always sell out. Instead, they claim the cards weren't returned in time (there are redemptions in both products, so that's BS), and dump them in crappy products like Inception, Platinum and BC. It's a genius idea business-wise, but it's shady as hell. Topps realized that TC would be a winner with the likes of Bryant, Kang, Joc, etc. Why bother adding Correa to a product already guaranteed to be popular? Instead, they'll insert the Super in Bowman's Best, they'll insert base autos in Bowman s2, and the color autos in another. Maybe they'll spread em out between all of their future 2015 issues.

And if you think the only Topps Chrome card Correa signed was the Super....then you're clueless

FYI - Topps Chrome released in early August. The press release which announced Correa's MLB autograph deal came out Aug. 26th. Therefore, there was no time to insert any of his autos into TC. I have it on good authority that Correa's agency initially was opposed to signing such a deal until just before it happened. I wouldn't be surprised if Correa himself changed their minds.

While I don't like the practice of inserting a player's autos and parallels into multiple products, the fact remains they are adding value to said products.

Confusing, yes. But beneficial for wax breakers regardless.

that's the point. The idiots who threw their wrappers away will have to go out and buy more boxes/cases from the dealer shelves in order to participate in a surprise wrapper redemption drawing for the card.

Or, Topps could follow along the lines of what Panini does and use this Correa card drawing to move their Topps baseball product dogs from the shelves by giving away chances to win this card in a drawing for each box/case of the dogs purchased off the shelves.

I agree that could be the marketing move they make. What's Topps does and what I think they should do (and I really don't know the best route), are probably going to be different. Though (and you may not have meant it that way) those who threw out their wrappers I would not consider idiots. Whatever plan Topps choses will prob piss some off but the card will prob hit the Bay at some point so whoever wants to pay $$$ will have the shot at it anyway.

Of course I meant it. Knowing what Topps (and Leaf in the past) are likely to do, why would any smart collector throw away their wrappers? Save those wrappers just in case Topps makes a wrapper announcement weeks or months after most people busted the product.

I have all my wrappers from the various boxes I've busted over the years other than the ones I've sent in due to a wrapper redemption (such as the gold rush packs or the razor signature thing they had a few years ago). If topps tomorrow were to announce a strasberg AU wrapper redemption drawing just for sending in 2010 topps wrappers, I'd be all set to participate without having to buy any new boxes in order to get the wrappers.

Yeah but he's been having auto'd stuff in topps products. Is a yearly renew type of deal? It's not like this is his first topps signed card.
