THE COACH IS ALIVE AND WELL!!!!

Ok, me and my family went down to Gainesville yesterday. We took my step son down to see his(and mine) favoprite team the Florida Gators practice and to try for autographs. He has never seen them in person and was very excited yesterday morning when we told him that is where we were going. So we hit I-75 South for the 2 hour trek to Heaven, I mean Gainesville. We didn't have much to get autographed because it was all last minute so he decided he wanted his new hat autographed. So we decided that would be a great idea. We parked in the parking garage and noticed there were some kickers already on the field(45 mins before practice) so we decided to take pics around the stadium. We were walking to the stadium when we started to come up on some players and got their autographs along with small talk. The 2nd set of autographs included that of Mike Pouncey!!! He is the center and twin brother of Maurkice Pouncey who is in this years NFL draft. I told my son that it was an awesome autograph and that I weas jealous, cause for once, I wasn't getting autographs as it was all about his experience that day. Then who do we come up to after getting that autograph!!!!! We were walking into the stadium and around the corner came the BEST COACH IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!!! Coach Meyer!!!! I said good morning to him and he stated the same, then I asked if he could sign my little man's hat and he willingly obliged with no problem to do so! Then I asked if he could take a pic with him and he did! After that it was over, we were all in shock and the thought of hunting down the autograph was no longer something that we needed to worry about. We got what i took him there hoping he would get and we got it in the first few minutes. We told coach we drove 2 hours to get to practice and he was happy that we were there and thanked us. At practice, he looked like he always has and didn't skip a beat. Anyways, if any of you are thinking about going, my advice is go early.

Thanks. He is 9yrs old and he said when I started talking to Coach Meyer, he didn't even realize it was him at first. He was so caught up in the moment of finding out it was him and it happened so fast.. LOL! He was blinking or something in the pic, but it was a good one none the least. Especially since it was taken with my Digital Canon Rebel 10.1 Mega Pixel, the 8x10 we made of it came out absolutely beautiful! He is going to write coach a letter thanking him for the autograph.

youngest in my sig was two and would ask for autos by himself - minor league baseball . he got jason heyward's auto and a baseball full . bb is son , other g/son

Congrats....glad you guys had a blast and got to experience what a class act that Coach Meyer is...not a Gator fan but its hard not to like such a classy guy like Urban Meyer!
