No i am pretty sure thats Red Dawn outside the camp they set up. Great movie! Was one of my favorites for a while, the end is a little depressing though.

Being a geek who attended high school in the 80's, I can state with confidence that that is a scene from The Outsiders as an earlier poster stated.

The redhead is the lovely and talented Diane Lane, one of my early crushes (sigh)....

The actor is Darren Dalton (not the catcher).

Much like the movie Red Dawn, he played a weenie in The Outsiders as well.
