Hype, have you noticed Porcello max his fastball out at 95-96 mph for the last 4 to 6 weeks compared to the 92 mph he was throwing all year? Any explanations?

He may be throwing a little harder than usual. Though I think the Dome's radar gun is high.

I agree, but even in Minnesota tonight he's throwing 95.

I think it's a result of him throwing a lot more 4-seamers. For the first half of the year, we barely saw the 4-seamer, but as he has faced teams for the second and third times, he has switched it up and gone to his power game to give them a different look.

He has hit 98 this year. I didn't even know he had that in him. I think the hardest 2-seamer I've seen from him this year is either 94 or 95.

He sure is looking great tonight.

I can not possibly fathom how taking out Porcello and replacing him with Miner is a good move. Miner is the most hated Tiger among Tigers fans by far. If Miner blows this game, Leyland will never hear the end of it.

While I wish they would have left Porcello in, I am a Tigers fan and I do not hate Miner (or any other player on the team).
