Well..... the day I was not hoping for has come.

Just got a call, my brother passed away this morning. He went peacefully and in no pain so I'm thankful for that. I'll probably not be on for a while as I'm sure we'll be travelling soon. So I wanted to tell you guys thanks again for your prayers, thoughts, support, etc. I'll be back on soon.

I am really sorry to hear this, Dave.

Let me know if I can help with anything at all. Will continue to keep you and yours in my prayers, friend.

Take care.

Sam ; you go to Cardinal games? I 'm going in oct. with group of collectors on another site . Never been to Mo.

I go to whatever random ones I can make it to. I didn't, sadly, go to one last season.

Dude, new Busch is so awesome. What a beautiful place!

Hrabosky's Ballpark Saloon it southwest of the stadium. Check that place out. It's awesome, and sometimes players go there after the games.

Evening all. Back in from running errands, including penny sleeves at the LCS. HAD to have them. ;) Anyway, picked up two 2010 Topps Jumbo packs, inspired by Andrew's 6 pack (now I'm thirsty :D ) break yesterday. He did better than me but here's what I got:

Dave(wide) - I cannot tell you how sorry I am at the loss of your brother. You probably won't read this for awhile, if ever, but as everyone else who responded has said, if there's anything I personally or we as a group can do to ease your pain, please don't hesitate to ask. :(

Got in from our new WM Supercentre, yup they spelled it wrong, and the mall. Got Carolynne and Erin our roommate some chocolates for V-day tomorrow (erins b-day is monday and carolynne's tuesday). I got myself some tootsie rolls and butterfingers instead of the good chocolate.
also got some of those mall made cin buns. very good.

Dan, you would be in tin heaven!

Josh, we have a cheesy snack in Canada, called Cheezies. I'm going to start sending them in packages. They are crunchy like hard cheetos, but they're all different shapes and sizes. Sooooo goood....maybe they'll come with the Blue Jackets.

Hi guys. Last check-in for the night. Just wanted to express my appreciation for the kind words, thoughts and prayers. I hope you don't mind, but I wanted to show you guys, who I consider my extended family, a picture of my brother. Steve was 52, was a fun and very smart guy. Was a professor in educational research (or something along those lines), had his doctorate from UofM, didn't have any kids but was going to celebrate his 25th wedding anniversary this year. He was my oldest brother. Passed on too soon.

We'll be getting ready tomorrow and travelling on Monday. Funeral is on Wednesday. Have a great night and the rest of the weekend.

Dave, Thanks for sharing the picture of your brother. Before I found FCB, it would have been hard for me to imagine caring about people I had never met, but had only communicated with through a message board. I think it's the common bond of collecting that is just the start of what makes this forum a great place to be, and in turn, makes the members great people to know. We share our ups and downs, high and lows and triumphs and tragedies. When one of us is down the rest are here to bring that one back up and to hopefully make them realize all will be well with time. With that thought in mind, may you and your family travel safe, remember your brother for the wonderful person I imagine him to have been and we'll be here if and when you need us.
