Alex (s)- Thanks brother.

Keith- Replied.

Mike- Thanks! Good luck on your Griffeys.

Hey Joe, if you end up getting the kidney procedure, feel free to ask me anything about it. I had 12 of the damn things. :x

I certainly will, Andrew. I appreciate it. I saw your FB post, I just haven't felt like spending much time on the computer the last couple of days. Is that what all of the kidney procedures you had were about?

Initially, yes. The rest of them were to repair damage to the kidneys. The kidney stones I had were on both sides and were almost three times the diameter of yours, thus the multiple procedures. :(

Damn, brother. This is/was my 17th time having kidney stones. For some reason, my kidneys do not do well with calcium. Unfortunately, calcium is somewhat necessary. I have cut a ton of dairy out of my diet over the years because every time they analyzed the stones, they were calcium. The doctor told me that, more than likely, this is something I will deal with for the rest of my life.

And now, back to cards:

Picked this up from the LCS the other day. This is a set that I LOVE, but the cards can be pretty pricey. This card in particular is special to me as my great-uncle used to drive this exact engine for this exact railroad. The card is absolutely beautiful and the colors/design are perfect.

If anyone has any of the Rails and Sails set available, graded or not, please let me know! This one cost me $15, but it was a no-brainer (perfect for me!) :P

You sound like me, Joe. However, mine are oxalate based, not calcium. This means I have to avoid dark green vegetables, coffee, black tea, chocolate, nuts, and about a dozen other things.

I get stones all the time and have to guzzle about a gallon of water a day to keep things moving. The damage from the stones has become the main problem now... :(

Morning all
Sick day today. I'll try to see the DR about why I woke up dizzy 2 days in a row. Might be a sinus problem.

I'm very sorry to hear it, Andrew. I drink at least 6-7, 32 oz cups of water daily. I truly feel for you, brother.

Andrew, got your PM. :benson: Cool card, BTW!

Joe, 17 times? That's just...ouchy. Talk about persistent bad luck. :(

Though it leads to late-night bathroom runs, my doc told me that it is super important to drink a large glass of water about a half hour before going to bed each night. Need to have large water supply for the hours you are asleep. He says that that is the "danger time" for stone formation. The extra water can help a lot.
