Had a nice bit of long overdue drama at work today.
The slacka$$ coordinator at work was FINALLY caught out.
One of the workers here has been sexually harassed by a creepy student for the past four weeks. The student has been making sex jokes, asking about what she likes in bed, and even tried to touch her hair. He also has followed her around campus and told her he "won't give up."
The coordinator has ignored the workers complaints and tried to force her to work with the student. She kept bringing it to the overall supervisor and he was also ignoring it and telling her to "just do her best."
The coordinator ( a thoroughly vile woman who hates doing anything close to work) made the mistake today of telling the worker, in front of five witnesses that she has to work with the student, she has no choice, and she won't be kept on if she doesn't. At that point, all of us lost it and EVERYONE turned on the coordinator.
The supervisor came out of his office and then tried to duck out. (He has had a reputation of avoiding conflict, rather than addressing it for as long as I've known). His solution? Assign the creepy student to ANOTHER female worker. ::facepalm:: ::facepalm:: ::facepalm::
I told him he could send him to me. I am dying to talk with this dirtball.
The worker is great at her job, but she has completely changed in terms of personality and mood ever since this crap started. She has obviously lost weight and is afraid to walk anywhere on campus by herself. The male workers here have taken to "shifts" of walking her to the restroom and cafeteria and the parking lot. She deserves better than this.
Campus security has been informed (by her, not the supervisors) and they said they would "keep an eye out", whatever the hell that means.
What kind of workplace refuses to stand up for their workers?
Personally, I wouldn't blame her if she sued the $(&+% outta this place. The fact that no one has taken even the obvious step of telling the student that he will have to see a different tutor is absolutely astounding. It goes to show the total disregard this joint has for any of its workers. She has complained for FOUR STRAIGHT WEEKS about this!
The coordinator needs to be outright fired.
Ridiculous situation. If I didn't need this job so much, I would quit tonight.

That's really ******, Andrew. I'm sorry your co-worker has to deal with that and that all of you have to deal with such inept supervisors. Not to mention the campus security. That's a damn shame. ::facepalm::

Andrew - It sucks to hear about a dirtbag student...but even moreso to hear about a dirtbag coordinator/manager that does not choose to do the right thing let alone do the polar opposite :evil: Sorry to hear man.

Went to Hohokam Park today, Dback's crushed the Cubs.
I did something that I have stated I would not do. I received two IP autographs from Fergie Jenkins. He was raising money for the Ron Santo Juvenile Diabetes Foundation. I made a donation and received these autographs. Fergie was very polite and was having a enjoyable afternoon with Jodie Davis and Pete LaCock raising money for Ronnie's foundation.
