I am a sucker for Fan Favorites autos.

REALLY like the design of the George Foster this year. Am hoping to get that one, Charbonneau, Wynn and a couple others.

Trains work. Busses are too slow unless there are dedicated bus lanes.

I take the express bus and aside from the few in town stops (4 or 5), we took the freeway (carpool lane) from Mesa to downtown Phoenix. Then I transferred onto the light rail and made it to my stop in 10 or so minutes. Total time was about an hour but that was an hour less stress that I had to put myself through.

Dave

My mom just called me from Fairbanks Alaska. They are headed to Denali national park by train which is their first adventure. The flight was over 8 hours with a stop in Seattle along the way. They said the 4 hour time zone difference is tough to get used to and the mosquitoes are horrendous.

Well
The proverbial axe just fell. We were told that the site will be closing by end of 2013. Our individual timeline is yet to be determined. Probably by end of this year or could be longer. 23 years here, no sour grapes from me though. It is what it is

OK so I had an email conversation with my manager... she sent me a ticket that was in one of my coworkers queue and he never called on it. It broke the Service Level Agreement and she then assigns it to me to work on. I have broken 1 SLA in the last 3 months. The conversation is as follows....with regards to what I say, am I wrong for replying back to her with what I did?? Names have been changed to protect ME!!!

First email is at the bottom of the message...sorry...

Manager,
I understand that. What should have happened is Employee X should have brought it to someone’s attention that he never called the user on this ticket. It shouldn’t have just been left in his queue untouched as he leaves on vacation. Watching someone’s back I get that, but there is a level of responsibility from my teammates that I shouldn’t have to second guess.

We need to get better at watching our teammates backs while they’re out of the office. It really shouldn’t be me that needs to call it to anyone’s attention.

Wonderful. I will follow up.

This needs follow up in Employee X absence this week. I’m sorry, it already broke SLA. Please follow up tomorrow.

Thank you,
Manager

We shall see what happens........

Good Morning Gents! Feeling a bit under the weather this morning so taking a day off from work. Hoping its not turning into a bug/flu as Jen and her mom had it a few days ago :(

Pete - VERY VERY sorry to hear the bad news. I hope it stays true to the date you heard so you all have a chance to transition elsewhere. You have certainly been there for a very long time...are they offering severance or anything of the sort?

Richard - Sad indeed on listing another name. They are very lucky to have you and the people you work with keeping everything celebratory and up to date with all the Vet stuff

Frenchie - Nice Prior cards! Enjoy the last of the graveyard shift and I hope its a long time before it starts again.

Alex - I see where you are coming from as I help manage a call center and queue escalations as well. I would say it is up to the analyst to assign out their tickets prior to leaving for any break/vacation as they still need to ensure the tickets they own/created are successfully taken care of. :)

Sorry if I missed anyone but I hope you all have a great day!

Really sorry to hear that Pete. Any chance of retirement as a result?

Pete I'm very sorry to hear of the closing but at least you have time to make a transition.
