G'mornaft gents & gals..

That bear looks so cuddly...I wanna hug.

Nice stuff, Andrew! I read a few back in the 80s but don't remember much. Didn't I read somewhere that the originals were re-edited so to tone down the racism or something like that?

Nice Ethier, Alex!

Hope your little girl get well real soon, Paul!

I believe that some of the original material was edited in later editions to eliminate some things like insensitive stereotypes, mainly, from what I remember relating to nationality/dialects of various groups. Have a couple originals and the "newer" (1950's-60's) editions. Would be interesting to compare them.

Just got back from fishing. Did caught any keepers. I had a northern pike that swallowed my lure, could save the fish, so it ended up being food for some eaglets that one of the parents came and picked up.

I was visiting a friend of mine that lives on the south end of town. I pulled up in the driveway and saw the bear on a feed pile of corn, etc. I just drove up slowly and started taking pictures. I got out of the Jeep and didn't get closer than 25 yards. The first picture I posted the bear hissed or growled so I knew I had better back off. This bear is probably around 250 lbs, and there is a larger bear than this one that comes in to feed.

(Raises hand) Big "Hardy Boys" reader back in my early days. That and "Encyclopedia Brown" and "Choose Your Own Adventures" were my favorite series.

Pretty quiet on my collecting front lately. But I need to land a Zim Bear after tomorrow night's Rays giveaway. Yahoo Sports' "Big League Stew" is doing a fun "Where's Zim Bear" series on their website, mailing a Zim Bear around the world and documenting his stops, like a "Flat Stanley" project. His first stop was in Cincinnati, where Zim grew up. I've been chosen as his second stop - will take pictures of him surrounded by my Zim card collection, and will take him around town. Should be funny.

I had about 5-10 hardy boys books. They're put away for my kids someday.

That actually poses a great question. Many of us in the MT have cards set aside for our kids, but does anyone have other cool stuff that they are hoping to pass down? (family heirlooms, other collections, misc treasures, etc)
