Barry-- Had the repairman at the house yesterday. AC was hit with a lightning surge--blew the lightning arrestors. $5 for the fuses, 25 for a new filter, $120 service call.
I think I got away cheap!

My last AC repair was 500. Before that I was fortunate to only drop 150 or so and replace the fan myself with FIL.
