Top of the morning to all!!

Wow is it bright this morning! But it's not the sun in the sky making it bright... it's the shine from my new platinum! 8-)

Good morning all.

Yes, the coffee is flowing this morning. Hope it's warm enough to bike to work today, but I doubt it...

Nice, I just do not have the logisitcs (or the bike) to do this....I usually exercise every day at noon time but have thought about getting a bike for my 4-5 mile (each way) commute. I'd have to make a longer trek in the AM to get a workout in and do not like the idea of coming home in a sweat. Maybe some day it will happen.

Any new HOF auto p/u's for you...? I've got my eyes on a couple of things....;)

No new acquisitions, and don't really have my eye on anything at the moment. I need to save up some funds for a bit, because they don't get any cheaper from here, as you know!

Thanks guys! A couple of shoutouts...

HUGE shoutout to bodisurfa (Scott) for helping me land the Ryan!! He hit the BIN for me and shipped it. He also included some Hawaiian goodies for the family... island-grown coffees for me and the wifey, macadamia nuts, and for the kids some awesome cookies!!

And my second shoutout goes to Alex... the coffee man!! Got my starbucks instant coffees (Italian roast) yesterday too! I look forward to morning coffee and this makes it even better. Thanks to both of you guys! :D

Good morning everyone. I hope everyone's day is starting off nice.

Dan- How's it going this morning?

darrend- Good luck getting the paper finished.

bungle- I guess I will have to go check out the pick up thread. Dave You's a great guy.

MOFNY- Sorry it keeps snowing. I'll get to deal with that again next year.

Scott- Sounds like you're the lucky one not getting any snow.

George- Great pick up on the new Gibson. Great looking cards.

Sam- Good morning. Nice video.

braves- Doing good and you? At least while you're at the dealership you can surf FCB.

chashawk- Great additions to the PC. That Dave fella, well, I guess he'll alright.

Art- I can imagine what you charactered out there. Hopefully you get some great weather soon. How's the hand?

klute- I will third your excitement for Opening Day and coffee. :D

Mighty Bombjack- Hopefully the weather is warm enough for you to ride your bike.

Josh- Good luck on the Kells. Dinosaur bone trade? Definitely sounds interesting.

Dave- That card is down right filthy! Awesome pick up bud! Way to go on the cards you sent chashawk too. ;)

I have nothing of interest or value to add yet (what else is new right?). If I overlooked anyone, I do apologize it was an accident.

Joe,

Pretty interesting article talk about the legal and illegal fossil trade. I can't believe how much some of that stuff sells for.

Sweet card Dave- well done. For us "Platinum" novices, can you tell us more about this part of the Ult. Sig issue? As you I know I am only a "dual-man." ;)

We deal with those issues in the realm of archaeology and the related artifacts. Chain of custody from the minute it is uncovered through curation is HUGE!

Wow nice find on the Ryan. I have never seen any of the 1/1s of the three Oswalt autos from that year.

Problem is that you have to fight off the Heritage collectors for them. I know he's in two other Heritage set with autos. I was looking at past auctions and the prices have come down on them a little in general.

George,

I'll send you the issue when I'm done reading if you want. Good stuff.

George - I'm loving the looks of that set. 01 Donruss Classics? On-card looks like? How many in the checklist?

gvsu96 - Thanks Josh, love the heritage Kell! Those pretty hard to find?

chashawk - ;) No problem!

bungle - Thank KC! I have wanted a Yaz RC for a long time too. Just have never bought one. GL in your search!

muskiesfan - morning joe! Thanks man. How's the coffee going down this morning?

MOFNY - Thanks Chris. Me niether. He has a Decades and a Numbers platinum and neither have surfaced. Maybe in my next case break coming up ;)

Maine - thanks Scott! There are only four subsets that have platinum 1/1: Prospects, Decades, Numbers, and Inscriptions. Total there are only 200 platinums. I have 6 of them now and if I could ever reach 20 I'd be ecstatic. May never get there but that's my unofficial goal.

Uh oh, I can see the bottom of my mug. Be right back.

2005 might never be topped in terms of great UD sets. Sweet Spot, Ultimate, Origins, Artifacts, Reflections. I know the last three years haven't topped it.

+1

I can't think of anything that comes close to the magnitude of the Ult Sig set. That checklist of on-card autos, I can't see ever being done again.

Joe, hand is doing ok. Getting ready to go out and test it a bit, maybe try to get alittle strength back in it. Thanks for asking.

I agree, 2005 was an epic year for UD sets.

Morning Art. Glad the hand is doing better.
