NO WAY! I am willing to pay the extra 5-10% to avoid the crowds. I wonder if wal-marts plan will help avoid people dieing?

I am the same way. Not worth it to me to battle the lunatics; besides, the stuff I buy never seems to be on special sales.
I will say though, that TV deal they have at Target is an incredible steal!
However, is it worth getting mugged for? No.[/quote:hzvciz5o]

What special is Target running? I'm in need of at least a 42".[/quote:hzvciz5o]

Target is already selling those TVs, most store have been selling out. The price difference is about 10%, if you want one just go get it now.

I have a westinghouse 26" in my bedroom. It works fine, but I can't turn the backlight down on it to anything below maximum. If I do, the backlight's power module buzzes so loud I can hear it over the TV. I've looked around about it, and it turns out that it's pretty common. As it is, I can watch TV, but if I do for too long the brightness makes my eyes strain a bit.

Ouch, sounds like you guys need neighborhood watch for the kind of people that live in your area. Around here everyone is extremely polite and well mannered. Really though its not that bad where I live and there is a remote Target I plan on going to that has been good to me on a few different Black Fridays. The plan is to get the 32" westing house normally $449 for $249+ a 20% off coupon I have. My mom actually knows someone who works there that tells her there is a better TV deal that they're doing that isn't in the as. We'll see. After I check the net for the deal first, however usually those great blockbuster type deals don't go online or are sold out immediately.

That's weird, I've never had any issues. I use mine as the upstairs TV and my computer monitor.

Target also has a APEX 40" 1080P LCD for $449.

Shhh don't tell anyone.

Here's the thing with Target. Go buy the TV today if they have it out for sale. Then go in Friday afternoon with the receipt and ask for a price adjustment since the item is now on sale. We did it last year with a camera that we wanted.

Super pumped for the next four days.

Turkey tomorrow, football everyday and no work. Get to recover from our Regimental Race Run. My calves and thighs are killing me. We basically sprinted about 4.5 miles (not really sprinted, but did finish in about 35 minutes, which is a little faster than I would run that distance).

Plus, hopefully Friday brings me many packages in the mail :D

And speaking of mail, my Secret Santa recipient's package was sent out today. Whoever I, enjoy it ;)

How's everyone doing?

Ok catching up.... got my mailers done and ready to be mailed. :insert dancing smilie here:

TVs... wow that is a great deal on a 32". Hmmmmm..... hadn't thought about shopping on BF but that changes things...

Andrew- yes, I have some low end stuff I've been wanting to put up so I'll be listing today. How's the tooth (or lack of tooth)? Hope you feel better. That stinks about Chris. I hope you both land something real soon.

Bruce- hope your daughter feels better.

Joe- that's just awful timing on that company's part. And worst of all, no warning that it was coming. I know things will work out for you guys, but it sucks in the meantime.

Morning AK! Doing well.

Man, just the thought of a 4.5 mile run makes me tired! :) I'm with you on the no work for four days, though! Also going to mail off SS gift today.

Hey Dave,

Thanks, Chris and I are doing what we can to plan for the money strain. I won't feel the big hit until February, due to the weird pay schedule here. Have put in applications everywhere from Target to Subway (wish I were kidding. :? ), but no bites yet. Might fall back on private tutoring, but hoping I can find a real job before I resort to that. :D

The non-tooth is fine, actually. There was only a little discomfort the day it was done, but overall it is okay. The other tooth is causing me financial pain. :?

I completely feel you on the financial pain, Andrew.

All I can say is, thank god for insurance. I was doing some quick calculations earlier.
George, I may need you to check my math  but I roughly figure that between mine,
Erin, and Olivia's doctor visits, my dental work, Erin's prenatal appointments, and Olivia's
birth, my health insurance has saved me at least $20,000 this year alone.

The hits just keep on coming. ::facepalm:: Dave You already sold the Dunn 1/1. Just as well, I need to keep every cent instead of buying cards.

Good deal, chas!

My health insurance is okay, but kinda substandard in terms of surgery/procedure allowances. Chris has good insurance.

Two months ago, my insurance dropped my dental/vision insurance completely. :( Great timing for the "Great Tooth Calamity of 2009" to occur.

I am the same, Joe. Don't even look at ebay now, except for checking completed items so I know what price to set for my sales. Things will improve for you guys, Joe. Keep your head/chin up!

:( Bummer. Oh well, everything happens for a reason, my friend. Hang in there.
