[quote="George_Calfas":38sk3n2s]Alex, how in the world would I get stuff toy from Scotland before Christmas? Hopefully I can find one in the US.

Thats why you buy it from the site then wrap up the printed out receipt, then Big O can use her Big Eyes to read what she will get when it is shipped  Honestly...that was the first link I saw in Google. I have a couple toy stores over here I could check for you if interested

Alex, did not know I was to buy gifts for Olivia [/quote:38sk3n2s]
 I honestly don't know what we're doing for her yet. Don't
think she's cognizant enough yet to open anything.

Actually George, from what I am hearing and from my buddies (I have 2 that work for the Cardinals) it seems likely that these will be the scenarios for the Cardinals Offseason, barring some sort of crazy shocker happening...

Priority 1
Resign Matt Holliday--have at least $30 million to play with. Already offered him arbitration..

Priority 2
4th starter--Probably between resigning Piniero and/or Smoltz and possibly looking at Vincente Padilla---personally I hope Piniero or Smoltz

Priority 3 (if Holliday doesnt sign)
Likely they go after someone like Tejada or Figgins for 3rd base and then trade for an OF....leaving these guys open to trade bait..

Freese or Craig (probably one or other sometime next year)
Bryan Anderson
Tyler Greene

Priority 4--5th Starter
Probably between Boggs and Garcia--seems like it will come from in-house

NOTE: Also offered arbitration to Derosa

MY TAKE:
Since the Cardinals offered arbitration to Derosa, Pineiro, and Holliday if another team signs them they get first round and/or sandwich picks. This is what gives them A LOT of options, because worse case secnario if none of them come back to St. Louis, they would have a ton of picks coming up, which would make some prospects available to trade, could be for someone like Dunn etc.

They would definitely go hard for another big bat at a different position (most likely 3rd base or OF) and then possibly add some pitching depth and trade for another bat sometime in 2010.....I think there are some other and cheaper options that would be good fits in St. Louis...

THIRD BASE
Tejada
Joe Crede
Beltre

OF
Jermaine Dye
Nady
Vlad
Bay
Damon

I guess in my perspective, if Holliday leaves and Pineiro leaves (which both seem about 50/50 right now) then go ahead and resign Smoltz (should be fairly cheap) and then look at signing either an OF or 3rd BASE bat. Hopefully Derosa comes back because he is VERY versatile and can do a lot for them. They can then trade some prospects since they have all the picks coming..

dunn isn't terrible in the out field, as long as you have a center fielder with ++ range

Right now Rasmus has + range, the thought is that he can grow into a guy with a high enough UZR to make up for Dunn's lack of mobility.

Anything is possible, would love to welcome Dunn to St. Louis...he would be a great fit and just think of the pitches Albert would see if Dunn was behind him.....

However, all indications from the Cardinal camp is that Holliday is priority #1

TK, to me StL is being more active in the Off-season than in past years under Walt. I have read those option you mentioned and most are acceptable, I just would like to sign Holliday after trading Wallace to get him. Vlad, Damon, Dye would be ok in short term deals, age needs to be a consideration.
Figgins would be nice but I see him staying in the AL

Yes, Holliday is top Priority for StL, well documented.

George - ::facepalm::  ::facepalm::  ...I know its C Monster...damn I'm getting old at the age of 29

As for the veteran movement talk...just as long as the Mariners keep Felix, Griffey plays 1 more full year and Pujols staying studded in STL, I will be happy. Hope it all goes well for us fans 8-)

I think people need to give Mozelik (SP?) more credit because I personally have liked pretty much every deal he has done so far. I know a lot of people cringe when top prospects get traded, but the fact of the matter is, if you have a chance to get proven stars over guys that have never had a bat at the MLB Level, it is a pretty good idea to pull the trigger.

I think the Cardinal front office is trying to be aggressive as possible to get Pujols help.....and they HAVE to because Pujols isnt going to be playing forever...

I think that bottle was broken into 27 pieces. Most of it was at the bottom of on archaeological layer and the rest at the top of the next. Makes it difficult to mend artifacts when they end up in separate artifact bags.
