Okay, guys, gonna try to do some more garage cleaning.

.....Andrew, you must have the world biggest garage! ;)

Well, at one time, I was in talks with the Angels to convert it to a dome stadium for them, but it fell through.

...and btw, nice auto(s)!!

Is the pic on the inside cover what you use for your avatar?

It is the same pic, but I got mine online. :)

Am on the hunt for a vintage edition of "The Planter". So far, all I can find are recent editions... :geek:

Andrew, Those are some incredible JL and family auto's you've got there! You mentioned "Antiques Roadshow", did you catch the episode last night with the "Jackpot" theme? People had paid next to nothing for their items at garage sales and flea markets and had the items appraised for thousands! Guess what I'm doing this weekend? :D

Sounds like a plan, Dave!

I have found some interesting things in our garage over the years.

A friend of my grandparents left us her whole collection of ashtrays from around the world. No joke, the things are worth a nice chunk o' change! She was featured in national publications in the 50's, 60's and 70's, displaying her collection.

They are from places like the Stork Club, Maxim's (Paris), touristy places, famous hotels, restaurants through the world. She used to actually write to the managers of these places and ask them for one for her collection. The majority of them sent ashtrays free of charge to her, just so they could have a place in her collection! We saved many of the letters she wrote/received. Truly interesting; don't want to ever sell them.

There was a guy I worked with when I was stationed at Little Rock AFB who collected shot glasses. He would ask people who were going TDY to various locations if they would pick one up for him and they usually would. He had them all around his work area until he was told to take them home because they were not the image that our office was trying to project. We thought it was funny because he was a real "anal excavation".

Guess seeing a work area surrounded by several empty shot glasses could lead to misunderstandings... :)

Chris collects shot glasses and has over a thousand of 'em.

Irony: Neither one of us drinks!

1,000 shot glasses = alcoholic starter kit, just add booze. The young man didn't just have several, he probably had upwards of 200 +. On a side note, how goes the job hunt? Having a job would maybe get you out of cleaning the garage. :D
