Thanks Dan and Andrew! It ended 40 short of my max (yeah, crazy ::facepalm:: ). It would have been one of those :benson: moments if someone had bid it up to my max, but thank goodness it stayed low.

Morning Jeff! Yeah I watched one with Mays and Mantle. Incredible.

Scott- I noticed the problem last night too. Wierd.

Morning Joe! Thanks man.

Alex- nice pickups!! Those patches will fit in nice with your PC. Well done, bud.

Do any of you guys what "Home Run Derby" on ESPN Classic. I freaking love it. Mantle, Mathews, Aaron, Mays, Frank Robinson, etc. What more could you ask for as a baseball fan?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Run_Derby_(TV_series)

And Alex - It also featured Bob Cerv.

...have seen it....I love all vintage baseball shows.

Last night on MLBN I watched the 74 WS highlights (Dodgers/A's) and 75 (Sox/Reds). I remember watching them with our entire Little League when we had our annual league event where they showed the previous years WS video. 75 still gives me goosebumps........and tears.......

Did they show the AMAZING throw that Dodger outfielder Joe Ferguson made to nail the runner at home plate? I remember that was one of the most thrilling baseball plays I ever saw as a kid.

Yes!! .....I did not remember that play....he cut in front of Jim Wynn (playing center) and threw a 300 foot strikke to the plate to nab the runner(Bando I think)

Yep, that's the one! I remember seeing that play as a kid and at first being annoyed that Joe cut in front of one of my faves, Jimmy Wynn, but when he unleashed that laser shot.....WOW! :o

You got a really good deal on that one, in my opinion. Glad it didn't go too high.

HR Derby is EXACTLY the way I want to teach my son the game. No glitz/glamour just honest players speaking playing the game the way I want it portrayed.

Andrew - I have no knowledge of being related to chas. Even if he was a brother I wouldn't claim him.

Really nice! The Warren Moon one is my favorite. Just finished putting my Moon collection into a binder the other day. :)
I was unaware that you had a Moon collection. That would be a collection where the sky's not a limit. :D

Yep, it was a perfect storm: Was super into football during his years with the Oilers, really liked Oilers as a team, too. Was buying tons and tons of football cards at that time, and there were a bunch of local card shows nearly every weekend. Got about 150 different Moons, including a couple of his rookie Topps cards. Have a couple of autographs of his, too.
Oddest card I have is one that features a piece of football used in one of those Quarterback Challenge shows.

Have a good one Scott!

Jeff- That's a very holey mailday. Some very cool cards. Congrats on the new pick ups!

Charlie- The gold looks great with the orange. Good luck on the rest of the rainbow.

If Jeff and Charlie were related, I would think some kind of cosmic rift would be opened and the world would be consumed by a black hole. I've only read of such occurances in scientific magazine, but it sounds like some scary ****.

Though I would pay good American dollars to see the looks on both their faces at the moment the relationship was confirmed.
