edwards - what kinds stuff did you move at the show? I like to hear what does well at shows across the country

I apologize in advance for the long read.

I had 5 3-row $0.25 boxes, 1 2-row $0.10 box, and 2 3-row $1.00 boxes. Plus grab bags with 1 RC, 1 GU or auto, and 1 serial #ed card for $5.00. Also had bubble mailers. And finally, a stack of Jordans (low end inserts and base), 3 McFadden RCs, 7 Kobe RCs, 4 Brady RCs, and some other misc RCs.

Sold 0 bubble mailers. :-) Never seen bubble mailers on sale at a show before, so I thought I would give it a try.

Sold 10 grab bags at about $4.50 each. Discounted a few to try stimulate sales.

Sold 2 of the Brady RCs low book - about $35 total.

Sold a Yunel Escobar refractor RC for $5.00 - hope I didn't take a bath.

Sold a Jair Jurgens (sp ?) x-fractor RC for $2 - had a brutal x-fractor line, but still hope I didn't take a bath.

Sold a bunch of the quarter, dime, and dollars cards on Friday, Saturday, & Sunday.

The show ended on Sunday at 4:00. At about 3:45 or 3:50, I finalized a deal to sell everything on the table except the grab bags for around $0.10 per card. I was willing to sell so low because I knew it would really make my wife happy to come home with 8 less boxes. I've promised to give her the bonus room back. Plus, I didn't have much $$ in the "good stuff." And, there was a lot of low end stuff in the quarter boxes. I knew I would need to make a good deal to get rid of the quantity. I traded slow profits, if you will, in exchange for getting rid of mass quantity at one time.

All in all, a very enjoyable experience.

I concur. Looks like a nice swap. What year is the Pujols on-card? Never seen it before.

All done shopping here. My wife and I decided to spend less this year, but more on the boys. We both decided to wait on presents for each other since my bday is after Christmas and hers in Feb, but she's still getting a gift from me and the boys (Blackberry Storm). She's a Blackberry nut and has been drooling over this thing. Anyone have a Storm? (not snow!)

My wife got the Storm - ordered it on release date, got it 2 weeks later. Had a problem with it keeping a charge, so she got a replacement sent that came in on Saturday. So far the second one seems to be fine.

Like everything, the first run has some bugs. But she loves it.

Cool, thanks for the feedback, man! Her phone account isn't set to allow upgrades right now, but I'm getting a decent price ($200) for it. Plus, she's worked her fanny off this year so she deserves it.

Mojo:

Here's what I sold at a show on Saturday in Indianapolis.

Had:

(1) 3200 ct. box of BB, BKB and FB - 2 rows @ $0.25, 1 @ $0.50 and 1 @ $1.00
262 Memorabilia cards @ $4.00 per or ($3.00 per @ 10 or more)
Johnny Bench Auto Ball (***) = $100.00
Griffey Jr. Auto Ball (Field of Dreams) = $150.00 (built display with a McFarlane)
Griffey/Griffey Jr. Dual Auto Ball = $125.00
3 Peyton Manning Auto FBs (On Field) (Steiner and MM)= $300.00 per
John Elway Auto Ball (On Field) (PSA/DNA) = $300.00
Various Singles from Manning RC's to Graded Vintage

Sold:

Bench Ball for $65.00
Probably 25-35 memorabilia cards @ 3.00 per
Did most of the damage in the 3200 ct. boxes.

I figured I could sell a couple of the FBs being Christmas and all but, no go. Walked away with $260+ than I started with. Not bad. The day started out on a bad note as a guy lifted two memorabila cards from me. $4.00 per. I know it's not much but, it's the principle. I confronted the guy but, he gave me the old "I'm sorry. I was looking at them but, I put them back." routine. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Sorry to hear that Indy, but it sounds like the show was a success as a whole...
