Not that anyone wants to think about it, bet how do y'all see the NFC West caming out now that we are 3 weeks in?

I love the win yesterday by the Hawks but the first and second half was night and day. In the first half, the Seahawks defense was flying around, putting hats on the ball, stripping it out, and put great pressure on Rivers. In the second half, the Hawks seemed to be playing reaction football instead of action football. They only rushed 3 or 4 and Rivers had a field day back there. I am guessing the defensive coordinator took his foot off the gas pedal and decided to coast but if that's true, he needs to not do that ever again. A 17 point lead is NEVER enough against a QB like Rivers. If the Seahawks want to compete, they have to keep that pressure on all the time.

Perhaps, ST. Louis isn't quite as bad as we all thought? I knew Steven Jackson was/is a beast but maybe the Rams are going to make a push to get out of last place. Riding high off their win, the Seahawks better be careful this Sunday. We cannot afford to lose at St. Louis with some of the opponents coming down the road.

The 49ers...how can a team with so many great weapons be so god-awful? I took their week 1 loss to the Hawks as a blessing. In week 2, they played the Saints to the wire furthur making me thankful they weren't firing on all cylinders in week 1. Then in week 3, they laid a dino-sized egg vs. the Chiefs. The offensive coordinator is gone...but I wonder if the problem isn't a little higher...like Mike Singletary?

I cannot believe the Cardinals are 2-1. They look like absolute dog crap but somehow managed to get past the Rams in week 1 and thanks to Janikowski (sp?), got a second win vs Oakland. Derek ANderson is awful and as they start playing better teams, I feel it's going to show. I wonder if Max Hall can step up when they call his number...

Week 4 predictions:
The Seahawks will get pressure on Bradford and come out with a rare road win vs the Rams 24-17
The niners are going to get handled again in Atlanta. 27-10
The Cardinals are going to be on the wrong end of a Chargers team who is pissed off about losing to the Hawks. 34-14.

Their wins say more about the opposition than it says about them. You can still match them top to bottom against any other division and they'd come out on the short side of the stick.

who's wins? The whole division?

I know the NFC west is weak and I'm not trying to say that they could beat any other division top to bottom. I'm asking specifically about the 4 teams in the NFC WEst and what people see going forward. ;)

its down to Seahawks and cardinals IMO. the cards are just need better OL, LB, QB to be a top team. but without QB, they arent a top team

The Niners are the worst team in football. Hopefully we pick the right QB next April with the 1st pick. I like Andrew Luck.

first time the a divison winner is 7-9?

 That could very well be true. Looking over the Seahawks schedule and knowing we are a crappy, crappy road team, the only wins I can see is the Rams, Raiders, and then the Cardinals and 49ers if both continue to play as they are now. Now if the Seahawks can go 4-4 on the road...you know what I don't see that happening so nevermind. How about 3 wins on the road...go 3-5 away from Qwest. At home, we SHOULD take care of the Cardinals, Rams and Panthers with little issue. The Giants aren't looking like the Giants of old and they have problems playing in Qwest. The Chiefs and Falcons are playing real good football and will be a tall order for the Hawks (although most figured the Chargers would kill the Hawks and somehow lost despite 500+ yards offensively.

I dunno...3-5 road, 5-3...MAYBE 6-2 at home. Would 8-8 be enough in this division? Based on what I've seen, I think it could be.

Yeah, the Cardinals have a horrid schedule going forward now though... @SD, vs. NO, BYE, @ Seattle, vs. TB, at MIN, vs. SEA, and at KC. Plus they have a Christmas game vs the Cowboys. Those next 7 games are going to tell alot about Arizona. If they can come out of it with a winning record, they could very well take the division.

You don't think there is any hope for Alex Smith? He has showed some flashes of at least decency hasn't he?

He is just not accurate enough. Plain and simple. At best he's a career back-up. I'm not putting all of our troubles on him I'm just saying if you're not part of the solution you're part of the problem. I love Singletary but he needs to go. He's a great motivator but not a good head coach.

I love the guy, but he's definitely better suited as a position coach (which he can never go back to now) or have an unbelievably strong staff.

Since I think the division games will be a coin flip each and every time, whomever comes out of that on the right side of .500 wins the division.

The way I see it is either the Hawks or Cards are going to take it. The Hawks have the easy route tho cards have some hard games coming there way. Its funny I would of never thought the Rams would have a win before the 9ers this year. lol Love it. Hawks are a young team for the most part and if the coaches can pull them together and grow as a team they can easy take the NFC west. Now for the playoffs don't see much happen there but you really never know crazy things can happen.

True that brotha! No one thought the Cardinals would do anything a couple years ago after looking so awful during the season and they almost took the Superbowl.

The Seahawks season rests on the shoulders of every fat guy on the team. The O-line has to protect and maybe...maybe learn to run block (if that's not too much trouble) and the D-line, because without pressure, our secondary might as well not be on the field.

I would hope the Seahawks. Winning on the road has been an achilles heel for the Hawks pretty much since...well...always. If they want to contend for the NFC West division, they HAVE to be able to win at least a couple on the road. Even if it's just 2 or 3, they gotta win the favorable matchups (STL, OAK, ARI, SF). If they can take 3 of those 4 (preferrably the 3 division games) no one will catch them.

I would agree. I would think the Cardinals would get around 80-100 rush yards out of their RB's, but the passing game has to be there. When Larry Fitzgerald only has 2 catches for 26 yards, you aren't going to win any games (outside of Oakland)

2 NFC West teams beat AFC West teams yesterday ::facepalm:: and the Chefs are 3-0....I'm so confused  Leon Washington saved the Hawks asses yesterday by keeping Hasselnuts off the field twice....and Janikowski missed that last second FG....as much as I hate to say it.....I'm thinking the Hawks are going to come out on top of the NFC West...I really hate Pete Carroll.

I wonder if Carroll knew the clock doesn't stop on a first down in pro football. The sequence of events at the end of the first half was atrocious! Those 3 points change alot about that game. Other than that, I don't have a ton of complaints about Pete Carroll. His pickups in the offseason are contributing (Clemons, Williams, Washington, etc) and with a practice squad left tackle, have managed to keep Hasselbeck on his feet most of the time.

Oh wait, one small beef. Hasselbeck is not a 20 year old highly recruited quarterback. Some of the playcalls seemed to be a little...too 'fast' for Hasselbeck.
