I'm watching wrestling with Valerie. It's pretty exciting.

I've been tossing around the idea for the last few days of starting a collection of something. Not sure what though. Player, set, busting BDP/EEE. Dunno.

I don't have the first clue what set or player I would want to collect. I don't really have much money. That's the problem. I can dedicate maybe $50-100 a month to a set or player. So I've been looking at lower end stuff but have no clue what to do.

I've been selling off alot of stuff lately myself. This time of year always gets me out of the collecting mood. I think if you're into it, you should build some vintage sets. It really can be frustrating, but it never loses its fun. Also in the future if you need extra cash, you've got a complete set that many people want.

Yeah, I had fun collecting the 1941 Play Ball set but got frustrated because it became too expensive very quickly. And I knew I was never going to be able to afford the bigger name guys in the set. That's the biggest problem with collecting a vintage set is there's always going to be at least a few big names in the set that go for a good amount. I'd have to save several months just to afford one of those cards and wouldn't be able to get anything else in the mean time. I'm impatient and would lose interest having to wait 3-6 months saving up for one card and probably start selling off the set. So I really don't know what to do.

Collect Killebrew, that way you can buy modern GU/autos and vintage cards, etc....plus he is cheap and a HOF Twin. And he has like the bestest autograph ever! We need a collector of his on the boards

I'm not a super collector, but I do have atleast 1 of each of Killer's main issue released cards(during his playing days).

For an even cheaper option, go for Oliva! He's a should be Hofer, and he will be someday. Get a leg up

I wouldn't consider Killebrew cheap. Unless you buy modern base cards or non-auto GU. I looked into him and a lot of his cards, mostly the ones I'd want, are pretty spendy. I'd maybe be able to get one card of his a month, depending on the card. I might have 10-15 cards of his by the end of 2010. That's not much of a collection. Like I said, I'm impatient and would probably get bored and give up.

My goal is to find something to collect where I can actively pursue it on a monthly basis. Meaning I can buy several of the cards a month, be it a player or set.
