I may be part of the minority :D but is anybody not buying in on the heyward phenomenon. I just cant wait until topps floods the market with jason heyward auto and they are selling at 8$ a piece. I just dont want to be in on this if he is strikeout prone i dont see him going up in price. this is going to end up like the whole Matt LaPorta craze when people switched from the religion to honor him as god. Just my 2 cents! Love to hear from you guys!

one thing's for sure,
even if Topps put a Heyward auto in every box of 2010 bowman, his 2007 & 2008 Bowman auto's will never be $8.

Topps also flooded the market with Longoria RC logo cards in 2008 and Beckham RC logo cards last year, and those have all done well.

You cannot get an auto of either of those two for anywhere near $8

yea but they wont be 100+, obviously this isnt going to stay at this rate because if it did in a year the u.s. would have a stable economy. he has great potential and big risk but possibly greater reward, or loss. Ill keep my 200$ and spend 20$ of that on little things i like because 200$ for an auto is absurd unless it is a president or somebody who had an impact on the world. nut if i didnt know better, from these prospectin boards, you'd think he is a god haha.

they didnt flood the market at all with those. they put out a solid number but those will have nothing on the opening food gates of heyward autos

Personally, i dont care who jumps on the bandwagon or not. No one truly knows how good of a player he will be but one thing is for sure, he has the tools to be a very good player. This idea that he strikes out too much based on 25 at bats and also still only being 20 is just plain silly. If he continues to develop, the only 8 dollar auto's he'll have are IP auto's on tri star...

im saying if he becomes strikeout prone, not saying he will with his upside being tremendous, but what will happen if he is, im just seeing who shares my opinion and who voices against it(and obviously none of his autos are going to go for 8$)

if he's a flop his prices will fall, if he continues to develop his prices will continue to rise or level off. I'm sorry if i'm missing your opinion but you're just stating the obvious...

Hanley Ramirez is your evidence.

His RC autos are still highly collected and the card companies ran him over with the "Bob Feller Truck" in terms of the number of autographs he has out there.

yea i recently bought an auto of his for 10$ and it was a rookie auto but the rediculosness of the heyward buyers (20$ for basecards!) i mean there will be to much i just see a nice chunk of change falling of his prices, sooner then later.

You are comparing apples and oranges. You but Arod and Jeter because their prices are basically static. Those buying Heyward now are gambling that either they are buying before they get too expensive or there is still room for growth. Those buying now are not prospectors, they are either collectors or prospectors taking a huge risk there is room for growth.
