The Origins of Matt Kemp's nickname, "The Bison"

I've always wondered why Matt Kemp was nicknamed The Bison, and seeing Marterburn's sig picture made me want to Google it.

Is it true that Kemp is nicknamed The Bison because a Braves announcer said he looks like a big buffalo running around?
