You are correct, right now they have the best record. After the season is over with the Brewers will hold the best record.

Since this statement the brewers have not won a game and the Phillies have not lost a game.

Still think you can over take the best record? And you seem very sure, you care to put your money where your mouth is?

Phillies are top dogs until the Brewers or somebody else proves otherwise. This next series should be fun to watch, I'll call a split.

Oswalt looking very good. This is his time--September!

Just watching the replay now and this is the best I've seen Oswalt in awhile. His fastball has that late jump and his breaking stuff is sharp. And as I type Bourn laces a double for the Braves first hit of the night. Beachy looks really good too. First time I've seen him throw. Very impressive.

I don't know where the heck you are getting arrogance from?

Golly, me neither....

and as for the title of this thread? it should be "The Phillies are the best"

Well, if we're looking at the records right now, the Phillies ARE the best in the league. So based on stats, that is a true statement...not arrogance.

Of course this is the regular season...the playoffs are a whole new animal. But Phillies fans have a reason to be "arrogant", at this time.

OK, let me break it down.

People magazine votes Brad Pitt the sexiest man alive. That's not arrogance.

He meets a chick who says "OMGz!1! You're the the sexiest man alive!! Not arrogance.

Brad Pitt does an interview and says "Hey, I'm the sexiest man alive." That's arrogance.

Phillies multiple runs better than the Brewers with Utley and Howard on the shelf. Next.

My face when the Phillies #3 pitcher and their C team offense makes you look like a moron:

That probably wasn't the wisest statement to make when the Brewers were looking at facing Hamels, Halladay, and Lee in the series.

Go Packers!

It's so easy to get your Phillies fans riled up. I love it. At least we can all agree that the Packers are better than the Eagles. :D

Yeah i do remember it. Our team is much better this year than it was that year.

We were also a wild card team and didnt have much of a chance going into the postseason.
Just us getting in was a big deal that year.
This year is much different.
Expectations are much higher, and while the Phillies are still much better than we are.
I would much rather get swept at Miller Park now rather than a month from now.

Also I would take our staff now over our staff in 08 any day.
I pitcher doesnt make a pitching staff.

ah, ok. I thought I remembered something like that.

Go Phills ;)

Ive wanted to come through the computer and rip your face apart over the past week.........but ive let cooler heads prevail.

One thing is clear, there are Phillies, Giants, and Brewers fans here that speak what is on their mind.

Theres gonna be alot of talking until the champion is crowned.
and if its the phillies again i wont be visiting this place for a while. ;)

Hamel's looked really good tonight. Doesn't help when Gomez forgets how to play center fields, I really wish they would just stick with Morgan in center.
