I'd figure the premium is on the jersey # type cards. Why would 100/100 mean anything? It's an ebay 1/1 for sure but then in reality, anything serial numbered could be considered a 1/1 because there is only 1 of each of that number...

I never underestimate serial #'s anymore. I've had too much success with them.

Yes it is.

No matter if anyone agrees, the #1, jersey #, and the last #'d will ALWAYS demand a premium.
It's been proved and shown over and over again.

It's like kids wanting be 1st in line or last in line.

I find it funny that all of us here are OCD card guys yet we question why people put premiums on stuff like this.

I had two Michael Pineda gold cards #'d/2011 from Topps Update. Had them both up for $4.99 when he was just traded to the Yankees. A guy bought one and it was #'d 1204/2011. The other one I had was 1804/2011. I THOUGHT I mailed the 1204 but I mailed the 1804.

He emailed me and asked to return the 1804 b/c he wanted the 1204. At first I thought it was screwy but he said it was his OCD and he collected 1204 cards. At that point I obliged and now if I have two of the same serial # card, I double check each time before I package it up.

So it's not just the 1/1, 100/100, and jersey #'s that people pay a premium for.

But whomever calls them 1/1s should be smacked around... the hobby shows there aren't many people proficient at math.

I didn't say anything about being 1/1's.
There ARE collectors for those 3 variety of cards whether we agree or not.
Also, alot (NOT ALL) Player collectors find them desirable as well and will pay a premium.
FACT.

LMAO!

I could care less what the serial number is as long as I have a copy of the card I want.

Well that's how I am but apparently people have money to burn. And OCD. Not to be underestimated by any means....
