Can someone help me understand why the Morning Thread isn't just one single thread that gets updated daily?
Half the threads on page 1 are the daily check in. That is an unfortunate circumstance, as that simply means the site is not providing enough meaningful content to keep people engaged.

This is really the only card related forum I visit regularly. I do pop in to the bench every so often and collectors as well, but not daily like this one. No longer go to Blowout, SCF or Net54 (mostly because my computer won't let me due to a security risk - Old computer). I wish there was more, but finding more "action" these days in facebook groups.

I check FCB every night, looking forward to updates on mrmopar's Dodger thread and the monthly arrivals. Still kind of old school and relaxed vibe. I enjoy it.

Just a page to check in everyday.
Yes, I'm aware of what it is; I just don't know why it has to be the way it is. I don't understand why a new thread needs to be created every day to accomplish this instead of just updating a single "morning thread" thread every day, which would consolidate the conversation and ping it to the top of the front page each morning. Instead, we have to see stacks of morning threads monopolizing the front page on any given day. It would also be wise to re-locate the morning thread to the MISC/NASCAR/Nonsport since it's unrelated to the category of baseball. This is just some feedback from a user. Perhaps there are others who feel similarly.

I agree with you, but eliminate that and 80% of the site activity goes with it. The site needs a shot in the arm for sure.

I'm not saying the thread should be eliminated. I'm not even implying that. What I am saying, however, is that that entire conversation should be consolidated into one single thread and re-located to a more appropriate area of the site. I don't know how to be any clearer about this.

If it really is 80%, then the brand of this community forum should just change to something like, "the morning forum." Daily threads about something unrelated to cards alienates all those who came here to begin with, which drives them away and makes this place even more desolate. If we want more activity on this forum, some small changes are warranted, and this would likely be considered by most to be a very trivial, but very necessary change. Perhaps you agree.

I don't really use that daily check in thread, but I think understand both sides of this discussion. The mechanics of how the thread is used with a new topic each day doesn't make sense from a forums use and design standpoint. Having a single one with each day being an update would keep it pinned to the top naturally. That said, the folks who use it seem to like it, and there's an element of "who moved my cheese" to it, where the change likely isn't desired. I wouldn't disagree traffic has an opportunity to improve here, though I am also not sure that the more quaint atmosphere isn't welcome for many users, as compared to blowout, fb,insta, X, etc.

There's no possible way this forum can compete with social media; it's not even up for discussion. All I'm saying is that seeing stacks of morning threads here doesn't motivate me to check the forum each day, and based on the feedback, it would appear I'm not the only one who feels this way. As a process efficiency optimization, consolidation and re-location would improve the cadence of thread aggregation, and UX. This discussion doesn't have to continue beyond this point and can be tabled. I was just curious what others thought, but that pursuit has now been accomplished. Thank you.
