Last night, Charlie Morton tossed a scoreless frame against the Braves and was then removed from the game with a tight hamstring. His line for the night was 1 IP, 1 hit, 0 runs, 0 walks, and 0 strikeouts.
I realize that he pitched some last year for the Braves, but it made me wonder what starting pitchers made their MLB pitching debut by allowing no runs, but pitched less than 5 innings (as the starting pitcher). So here you go:

The first name on the list is peculiar, Cesar Tovar. A simple click on the date next to his name shows that this was the game in which Tovar played all 9 positions in a 9 inning game. He had been in the league since 1965, but this was his pitching debut. Interestingly, Bert Campaneris was the first hitter that Tovar faced, and Campaneris became the 2nd player to play all 9 positions in a 9 inning game.
There are some interesting names on this list. I wonder why some of the pitchers were pulled after just 2 innings. Anyone know?
