OK, hit up a few estate sales yesterday. Found some decent stuff, but this is the best thing I've ever found. Was a little shocked at how high the price was on it until I did some research on my phone.

This is a 1964 H&G Louisville Slugger St. Louis Cardinals World Series Black Bat. These bats were only given to the players, coaches, high ranking front office executives, and baseball dignitaries. So there is a good chance there are less than 100 of these out there and I'd bet many of them are in collections that'll never leave the family. It has the signatures/names of all the players on the team including Gibson, Brock, Flood, McCarver, and others.

Paid $60 for it. Not in the best condition, but who knows who this used to belong to and they sell in the hundreds.

Just a neat piece of history, something that could be in a HOF, imo.

Hard to find stuff like this in New Jersey, if they even had it they would be charging way too much.

Maine of course......
Well, stopped at my local Goodwill today as I had to run an errand at the Dollar Store next door. I had stopped there exactly 2 weeks ago so did not expect to find anything exciting. Had two basketball related finds today.

First book I picked up was this.......

Williams is a basketball executive with the Orlando Magic.

No other books had any signatures and most I had seen before.

Went over to the sporting goods section which is usually pretty junky when I spotted this.........

I am almost 100% certain it says: "To Westin" and is signed by Ben Gordon and by Tyrus Thomas #24 .

Any Bulls fans that could verify those signatures? Any idea if this has any value?

Don't ever really find any cards at thrift stores but figured I'd give these a shot. There was more but these looked the best & for $1.99 figured why not.

I'll add some pics after I'm done

Hey Rum: Need your expert advice on bats again. I keep looking in hopes of finding a Z-core, but no go yet. This guy has a bunch of bats but I only know from this thread so not sure if they are worth getting. Bat one is an Easton "Black Magic" 2 3/4 Inch barrel 30 inch - 23 oz. Bat two is an Easton "Triple 7" 2 5/8 barrel 31 inch - 26 oz. Worth picking up to make a few bucks? Thanks in advance.

Nothing too crazy but still fun to go through. A lot of star players throughout good mix of newer and older stuff plus some vintage football.

Here's a few pics

I hit up a different goodwill in my hometown before I stopped at a friends house. Picked up a couple of fitted new era hats that had minimal use for $1 and $2, A couple of knit hats for $2 each, John Randle Logo Athletic Jersey for $6, Springboks Rugby Jersey for $4 and a nice zip up Starter jacket for $3. The best part wasn't even sports related, I got a very nice, looks like it was never used Ralph Lauren overcoat for $7. The problem is it barely fits, I need to drop some poundage anyways.
