You have to hand it to Topps, they know how to pile on. When they get it set in their head to make a product excellent and REALLY go after it it always gets done. Sometimes they just stack content on top of content and make one set just unbelievable. 2012 Topps Chrome Football looks to be one of those products.

Lots of things have been added that you don’t typically see in this release. Triple autographs, interesting sub sets including rookie reprint autographs of some big names, throw back autographs of this years rookie class, and the images they released today of the tall boy autographs all look like great additions to the product line. We have also seen the addition of the blue wave packs that I personally think is brilliant. It’s a good way to make the customer feel better about pulling the dreaded redemption card.

Collectors have certainly noticed the buzz and have taken to hitting up big box retail outlets to get at least some taste of the product early. I expect hobby sites to be littered with box breaks of blasters and rack packs at least until collectors can get their hands on the hobby version. And according to some breakers and distributors people will have to wait a bit longer as some are pointing at a shipping delay that will set them back a few days.

The down side to this improved content is that it’s an invitation for people to pump up the price on the cases and boxes and that has already happened. As referenced on Monday’s hot list chrome cases were already at the $1000 mark on ebay. The latest case sold for $1200. I am not sure that this product even with the improved content is worth $100 a box. One thing is sure however, people will certainly pay it as money is often no object when it comes to Topps Chrome Football.

I agree that it's not worth being a $100/box unless the better autos or better colors show up ALOT more than in the past but man, what a nice looking set!

Alls i see is more autos to water it down. Wish it was just the regular autos and not all the is extra crap. Now if these were extra hits that would be a different story.

Bought 7 Blaster Boxes and nothing to speak of. Do you recommend blasters or hangers? Feel like I wasted 150 bucks on crap. Nice cards yes and I realize hits dont come in each purchase but.....

Mike, I actually recommend Hobby. I will always recommend hobby.

But if you gotta buy retail, then you gotta do some digging to find out if a particular product is loaded on retail. Sometimes it's the blaster boxes, some times it's the rack packs. Sometimes it's both, sometimes it's neither. Sorry to be so little help.

I did we'll out of 4 blasters yesterday.

I didn't horrible out of 3 value packs today.

Last year blasters were hot and seem to be again this year. That said autos are far and few. What did you get outta yours? The whole product is hot right now and maybe you can trade to offset your disappointment.
