Sandy Alomar Jr
c/o Mets

Pretty good response rate.

Wally Joyner

or

c/o Padres

Either way, he probably won't respond.

Thanks.

I know it sounds stupid, but I have never sent TTM before, so a few questions if you don't mind...

I just need a SASE to send to the player, correct?
Can I just send a card to the player with a SASE, or do I need to include a note or anything?
Should I send the card in a toploader, or will the player not even bother taking it out? (I was thinking Bobby Doerr for my first TTM)

Typically it is considered good form to send a hand-written note but you'll get different answers from everyone. Typically they know what it is when there is a SASE, so it's not ENTIRELY necessary but do it just to show you spent time to ask for their time. Do include a SASE. I only know of one player that will return if you don't send a SASE: Johnny Edwards.

Toploaders are another murky area. Some players don't pay attention and sign the holder instead of the card. Of all the TTMs I've sent out, only one has come back bent so I don't find them necessary.

No longer signing TTM. Sends a letter saying he can't keep up with demand.

I don't recommend top loaders for TTM, as they sometimes hang up in the sorting machines and will cause your envelope to tear up, possibly along with losing your card.
Almost never do the cards mess up when placed in an envelope by itself for TTM.

Great signer. Usually about a one week turnaround. Requires a $10 donation.

A few successes c/o Cardinals and fewer still c/o HOF. No successes from home ever.

Has anyone had success with Juan Pizarro?

I just got back my second straight RTS today, both from
2262 Ave Santurce
Santurce, PR 00915-4421

SCN has successes listed from this address from both a few days before and a few days after I sent my second request, so I'm a bit baffled. Both came back saying insufficient address. Any ideas?
