The Yankees traded reliever George Kontos to the Giants on Wednesday for Chris Stewart. New York then optioned catcher Francisco Cervelli to Triple-A.

this is a good trade for the Yankees. Romine is out for a while, and Cervelli can catch the talent at SWB

In theory I understand moving Cervelli down due to him having options and Stewart not having any, but they couldn't find another Crash Davis for AAA? At least Cervelli offers some offensive upside and lots of fist pumps to the big squad.

And I liked Kontos, but it's a position of depth, so whatevs.
