One update so far this week.

Tom Lawless

He managed the Astros between Bo Porter and AJ Hinch, never had a card made of him. This upgrades an index card.

One of my Twitter followers pointed out that I had a Gregerson on my tradelist and my needed upgrades list. So I have been sitting on this upgrade for at least a year!

This one was huge! It is his only Astros card and he is a super tough auto!

Jim Crawford. Tough auto to find on a card.

Awesome Crawford! I have a weird, really unexplainable love for mid 70s Tigers cards and when I moved into being a passionate autograph collector, those became big targets as well. Like any team, they have their tougher guys. Ray Bare, Jim Ray, Jim Crawford, Reggie Sanders & Bill Slayback to name a few.

Jim Ray was also an Astros player. I am fortunate to have THREE Jim Ray autos!

Tons of pickups since my last update, including one new addition! Also several amazing upgrades.

First, the new addition.

AlvarezYordan.jpeg

Yordan Alvarez

I got this one for $30. I still cannot believe I managed it.

GalanteMatt.jpg

Matt Galante upgrade, but this card is too cool. Unfortunately Cot Deal is no longer with us, so this one will never be completed.

HarrisBuddy.jpeg

Bill Harris upgrade, but another cool multi-signed card.

StricklandScott.jpg

Scott Strickland. He charges for his auto and gave me the dying Sharpie. Lame. But it is still an upgrade.

How did Tom Funk even warrant a broder? Never heard of the guy??? Usually those were the bigger names or hot players at the time. I didn't realize they did any common guys. Looks like the typical middle to late 80s designs, like the Cunningham set from around 86-87

Pretty awesome though that a guy like that has an Astros card so you can get it crossed off the list.

Broder actually made two Astros sets that were around 40ish cards each. It makes me wonder if he was based out of Houston.

A ton of updates since my last post.

IMG_8800.jpg

Triple signed Bagwell, Gonzalez, and Rhodes rookie card. I did not get this cheap, but it was worth every penny.

IMG_8793.jpg

Lance Berkman also signed by Glenn Davis. I am a sucker for multi-signed cards.

IMG_8790.jpg

Curt Blefary

IMG_8797.jpg

Bruce Bochy, Mike Fischlin, and Don Pisker (never made the team) signed rookie card.

IMG_8787.jpg

John Hoffman

IMG_8788.jpg

Erik Kratz, through a private signing. This is the only card ever made that shows him with the Astros.

IMG_8789.jpg

Jeff Leonard

IMG_8792.jpg

Matt Lindstrom

IMG_8798.jpg

Jordan Lyles. Between him and Jon Singleton, I think we have definitive proof that weed is NOT a performance enhancer.
