I was looking through an older box a couple nights ago and found some cool stuff. None of this stuff is HUGE, but it had alot of meaning to me a few years back.
Knoblauch was my first ever game used card. I got a couple random packs from Toys R' Us one day and was confused as to what it was exactly at first, but after I saw it was a game used bad I was off the walls. The Armas was my first ever auto card also came from Toys R' Us from a GU/Auto or Graded card per envelope type things. The Rodney Hampton was my first ever refractor. It came from a box given to me as a little kid, and it was of the peel off variaty. The others inserts I got out of a $1 box and I always loved the Jackie Robinson.
and this..
Was my first ever true player collection. I know I have an auto somewhere and a few others but this was the bulk of what I had. I remember going into my store and the owner saying "Terry, I have something special for you" and he showed me a 1998 Donruss Signature auto of Jeff Conine. I was like WOW, HOW MUCH!?!? And he said $4. I thought that was quite the deal back then, and to this day I'd still pay $4 for a niner auto. I gotta start picking up his stuff again. If anyone has any Niner stuff available, shoot me a pm!
Just figured I'd post these, in relation to Mozzie22's post and a look back at how far this hobby has come.
