Um... ya, well.... not in 6000 years.

Indeed nice card but still, crazy price. Most likely just putting it up there waiting for offers and perhaps he's hoping that some crazy buyer who has loose cash hits it... hem, sounds familiar.

Anyways, nice card.

I just do not get it....

Every day we get post's like this where someone is mocking, complaining or just generally pointing out jestly a high BIN with a BO. Am I the only one who understands E-Bay and the logic behind this? Clearly, he is not expecting $6,000 or he would not have put up a B.O. option. He is simply throwing up a High BIN in hopes to get as much as possible through the B.O. offer(s). It's done hundreds if not thousands of times per day. Sure he is probablly hoping someone with deep pockets and blind ambition hits the BIN, but aside from the pipe dream, I see nothing wrong with the auction and, infact, agree with the logic behind it.

I've been on Ebay since 2000. I know the logic behind this as well.
I was just stating a fact, that if he actually wanted anything NEAR his BIN or any UNGODLY amount, the time ISN'T right now! It's the offseason and the economy is crappy.
He missed the boat and should of sold mid season!

Thanks for your superior breakdown though, NOW I completely understand ebay and "Smart" sellers. 8-)

I understood your point the first time.

But despite time of year, weither he missed the boat or not, or when the best time to sell was(which you did not mention until now..), I still think the logic behind his method for selling is sound. No need for emphasis on any given word or your past history. You made a simple observation within your initial post and I gave my opinion. Tis the beauty of a message board.

Thanks, Ron. :)

That belongs to one of our members the Jay Bruce collector(jbcards)
Its an incredible card but I could only see it getting half of that and thats if he wins a few major awards(mvp, batting title)

Yeah, I have to agree. A great card but should probablly sell for 1/2 the BIN. However, I assume he would seriously consider an offer like that also.

He may just be gauging a value, since I dont think a Jay Bruce super collector would sell the players best card..ever.

That's nuts don't get me wrong jay bruce is good so far not to jix him or anything but he's no pujols you could buy a couple of ungraded pujols bowman chrome rc autos for that price.. a much better investment than bruce who could turn out to be a average player I'm not saying he will be he could be a huge star future hof but there is a chance he may not be. Other than that its a nice card.

Yes he did. I would think you could get half of that price, but only if it was during the season and not now.

Great card! Why is there even a discussion of the high BIN?

I remember when the Topps Chrome Red Xfractors of Jay Bruce were hitting $1,250...sure they are autographed, but they are sticker autographs and they are numbered to 25. There is no worth or value on the Red 1/1...1 person decides what he/she can pay...you simply never know with cards like that.

The BIN price is a non-issue when it comes to a 1/1 like this. Most likely, the seller does not even want to sell the card, but this is THE price it will take for someone to get it... so someone can pay up, or never own it. Put it up for a million... it wouldn't bother me one bit.

I don't see the big deal, especially for a 1/1 card of one of the top young players in the game. It's smart to list with a huge BIN with BO. As someone else mentioned, if this guy is a "supercollector" he may not really plan to sell it unless he's blown away by an offer and is just gauging the market. Maybe Wossa or Jay Bruce himself would like to buy it?

I could have sworn that card was OC left to right. Hmmm, maybe its the super I'm thinking of. But I thought I read once on BMB that this card was trimmed.
