They were $300-400 before SI..... so unless SI decides to make him the coverboy for the next 52 issues (including swimsuit).... odds are he will settle back down to $400 range. He might see a spike again come draft time... but he might also have more cards out by that time as well.

You have times of unloading your cards.... if you hold through that time... you will regret it. Some of those times during the past few seasons......

NOW... Bryce Harper
Last season - Jay Bruce after his incredible start.
After Clay Buchholz No No
After Cameron Maybin hit the HR off of Clemens
after mcmann hit the homer off clemens

If you had cards of those players and continued to hold.... you lost out.

I see there are a few listings that we were all hoping (for the sake of the card owners!) to see. Allow me to make a suggestion, especially to you Jaypers since you have a few of them listed.

In lieu of a BIN/BO on one of the listings, run a 1-day auction with starting price of $799.99. All it takes is one bidder for you to be a happy man, and if not, you're out a nominal listing fee. I would try this strategy with a subtitle "last one got $898.00!" and see what happens. Just my $0.02 and hopefully your G!

I don't have enough common sense to do that.

Low blow... throwing it out there entirely for your benefit with zero vested interest in anything that happens. Obviously you don't have to (nor does it appear will you) take my advice, but did you really have to "zing" me? :?:

I disagree. The high starting price always keeps some buyers away for some reason. They'll bid it up there and past, but for some reason, some just don't bid if it starts out high. I was thinking that some could panic at the $898.00 and push it a bit higher to get one, but Brett's $1000 BIN/BO takes that out of the equation.

Now, if someone were to hit Brett's BIN, well then, all bets are off.

You opened up that can of worms with an indirect jab, I responded in turn.

Who knew turning one down this afternoon for $450 was a dumb idea? Of course, it had some pretty bad chipping on the back...

You think you're kicking yourself? The guy who sold it was selling it to raise cash to buy my Kershaw gold. After he sold it, he told me he would have traded it straight up for the Kershaw but didn't offer it to me because he thought I was looking for cash only.

Not joking.

It's extremely strange to me.

Which you've made clear over and over and over. Tell it to Upper Deck.
