Fernando Perez is one of the nicest and smartest baseball players I have ever been around. Really awesome guy, really down to earth.

I really hope he becomes a MLB regular, because he deserves it.

Yes, he is an extremely smart man. I believe he has a degree in creative writing. He's also a published poet/writer. His parents are also college professors, if I'm not mistaken.

I had the chance to hang out with him a bunch in 2004, while he was at the HV Renegades. Really a top notch guy on all levels. He can also fly around the bases.
