I see Snyper still has the same opinion of SCF as he did a while back.

I think it's starting to grow, it will take time though. I'm not sure how the response has been since the National though. Has there been any new members that signed up and are actively posting? It seemed to me that SCF had A LOT more people around their booth on Saturday when I was there. They were giving away prize packs to every member (a jersey, auto, or serial #'d card in each pack) along with being able to sign up for bigger prizes (they gave away a dinosaur bone card from Allen & Ginter baseball) and their were several dozen people standing around their booth waiting for them to announce the winner.

I know that FCB had their 5 card set, but you only got 2 from FCB's booth and had to get the others from other box dealers. Not only that, but the 5 card set were all baseball players. I don't really collect baseball, so what good were those cards to me? If FCB wants the other forums to grow, why not add a football, hockey, and basketball player to the set? That to me didn't make much sense.

Here's my opinion for next year's National, if FCB decides to set up again:

1. Have daily contests at the booth, it will get more people to notice FCB.
2. Try to get a few laptops and have people who aren't already members to sign up right there in front of you.
3. Get bigger signs, I barely even saw any FCB signs there.
4. Like I said before, if you make a giveaway set, make them all available at the FCB booth and have all 4 major sports in the set.

Hey Tim the reason they just did the Baseball guys was licensing rights. The card company Razor, who is/was/at times an active board member and sponsor allowed FBC to use the imaging rights of those 5 players, that Razor had exclusive rights with, thats why the razor logo also appears on the FCB cards.

Oh ok, that makes sense then.

I will say, even though we don't have a huge community over here in football yet it is a great core group of guys. We don't have annoying trolls clogging us up over here.

I think a big part of the lack of members is due to trading here. There are a bunch of guys who love it here but have to wander elsewhere to get a trade done. I barely ever have anything to trade so that isn't really an issue for me.

We are growing over here though slowly but surely.

Tim, SCF's presence at the national paled next to ours.

With all due respect to the guys over at SCF, I firmly believe that we kicked their ass that week in every possible way.

Well, the only day that I was there was Saturday, and it didn't look to me that anyone was even at the FCB booth when I walked past a few times, maybe it was bad timing. If you feel that you guys beat them for the week, then that's awesome!!!

We were on all the national's promo material.

Our cards were in the VIP packs.

We had a VIP signer at our booth.

We gave away a TON of stuff.

This seriously has to be the slowest, least active, underutilized football card message board in existance. Damn shame.

For the love of GOD tell your friend's friends, your uncles, cousins, dentist, barber, tell EVERYONE to start posting here. This shat is killing me.

I NEED my football message boards damnit. I would rather dip my head in 3 month old period blood than to post anymore on the abomination that is SportsTardForum.
WOW!

I find it kind of humorous that some of the guys complaining about the lack of posts are guys who I never see post here.

Maybe if everybody who wanted a better football forum would post, you'd see a huge growth on the board.

Don't sit in the dark corners and crawl out to whine that there's no activity - make some! It's like people complaining about the trash on the street, yet they'll toss their empty soda bottle on the side of the road.

 I didn't realize that. I just saw a new post on it so I checked it out, and didn't look at the dates of everyone's posts.

I guess when they were complaining, it was back in a different time

I think they have helped as well, as it has brought some of us baseball guys over to post more on this side of the FCB pond.

I know as the football season gets nearer, I will be a lot more active over hear, since the Astros are settling in near the bottom of the NL Central ;)

I will be single handedly doubling the hockey posts and giving a smatter of support to the football board as well. Don't expect anything more of me. I can't handle the pressure.
