Ok, I'll bite.

The FCB Hot List has been, for some time, a list that covers cards that have jumped in the calendar week % wise. Today it had a different format which focused more on buzzworthy cards. The price comparisons that many were used to, were absent and the list was cut to 6 spots. If Chris wants to take it in a different direction, he's definitely earned that right. As Chris knows all too well, change is hard for people to take and when something we love is messed with, members react.

Secondly, I went back and read the comments again and still can't find a reason for all the "yes men" responses.

Not to take anything away from the old hot list style & writer, as it was a very nice weekly post, but I too like Gilmores writing style and revamped 'Hot List' style. My prefrence (specificly when creating them) is to compile a list comprised of movers, shakers, and as coined above 'buzz worthy' cards. A gambit if you will of noteworthy cards based on recent, current, and near future potential. I also like the inclusion of cards that 'should' see spikes in the near future based on performance from time to time.(I mean, whats better than knowing what is selling for more, than knowing whats going to sell for more soon!)I agree, as also stated above, that any break from the norm is usually met by some resistance but if Gilmores (or who ever takes on the roll of Hot List writer) continues to flesh out a list of notable and weekly relevent cards (albiet not soley based on $ or % increase alone) then there is no reason not to think the FCB Hot List can not evolve in to something more informative, more creative, and more well rounded. Something that will offer substance and entertainment for everyone and not just thoes interested in current sell value packaged in percentage points.

Anyway just a few more pennies...

I'm going to protest outside of FCB headquarters until Phil is brought back. I'll be wearing an Alabama shirt with a bucket on my head, to symbolize the fact that we're blind to Gilmore's tyranny.

The Vader sketch you showed is by Sean Pence. Amazing artist and great guy. I had a few commissions done by him.

I must have missed it - I'm not complaining about the new writer - but why exactly is Phil not doing it anymore? Funds?

The answer is time constraints.

Gotcha. Keep doing what you gotta do Gilmore. There isn't anything that you are doing that is controversy. You are just living life and trying to maintain a respectable site. Nothing but respect here.

Any chance cardcop could be persuaded to bring his blog material to fcb? Just think of the traffic he would generate.
j/k

No it's not - it was a business decision by you as I said earlier. I have the time.

I loved the write ups and hot list in general when you did it Phil. Bad buisness move changing one of the things that you yourself said was a bright spot on this forum Chris.

I'm sure you have your reasons but IMO this is one that should have been left alone

That blows hopefully there is a good reason behind it (not that it is any of our business).
