Per Steve Reed of the Gaston Gazette, the Panthers are now practicing with three-year middle linebacker Jon Beason at Davis' old position on the weak side. Oft-injured former Penn State star Dan Connor is now with the first string inside. James Anderson remains the strong-side linebacker.

That is simply too bad. He is a good player, especilly when allowed to stay at one position for more than a year.
