Amazing! I really love your work, Tim. Where do you get the cards that you cut up to make these? Did you just have them laying around or have you just bought some large lots? Also, I see it took you just over 40 hours to finish this one. How many days (weeks?) did it take to do? One more question: I see that it's been sold already. Was this one commissioned?

Thanks so much. This one was indeed a commission piece. The cards I have been cutting are a combination of: cards at home (from unfinished sets), cards from a local shop, and cards donated from one of my closest friends (and fellow collector). Like everyone else that has collected from these "overproduced" years, I once had several thousands/hundred thousands of commons that I had no use for. I gave them away. I sold them at yard sales. Anything I could do to get rid of them. A few years ago, I started putting some of those sets back together, and I had several uncoplete sets sitting in my closet. Those got me started, and I have used my local shop's surplus along with the stash of my friend to fill out the rest. Hopefully, they will not run out of the sets I need.:)

I am a teacher that is enjoying the summer break. So, I have a ton of spare time on my hands at the moment ;) . I was approached about this piece last Sunday, and once the deposit was made - I got right to work that night. To answer your question - the 40+ hours took place over the last 7 days. I finished earlier this evening and started posting about it once I received contact from the Rice's new owner.

I appreciate all of the compliments. ;)

Out of respect for the buyer's investment, I can not openly say what he paid. I can say that it fell in line with the price range given on my site. I've had a blast with these projects. Unfortunately, I have not been able to finish the "Holy Grail" series yet - but working on commission pieces seem to be a little more rewarding, as they are enhancing someone's collection.

That is some incredible artwork you do. I looked through the others on your site and am blown away. Thanks for sharing and I might be needing one of these done in the future.
