When healthy, he sports the potential for 3 plus offerings....Was great in 2009 after being out all of 2008 after Tommy John Surgery. Has been out for most of this year due to shoulder trouble, but a lot of that is due to the Tigers being wary about his arm.

As it stands now, Crosby has one card ('10 BC base), that is selling for pretty low amounts. Would you risk taking a flier on a guy like this? If he ever reaches his potential, he could find himself at the top of the Tigers rotation, AHEAD of guys like Porcello and Turner.

Seems a few people are still pretty high on his potential. He may be a serviceable MLB pitcher down road.

Flier already taken. For the reasons you listed.

Potential is there but if you could assign prospects with a probability of meeting their potential, his probability would be much lower than that of Turner, or even a guy like Porcello who still has a lot of pitching to do before he has reached his peak, which is what made and makes those guys better prospects than Crosby.

I also don't like the fact that his only card is a non-auto, because Topps likes to re-use players so I see him as a guy who could end up with a Chrome auto within the next year.

Potential for a nice ROI? Definitely. Safe investment? Not by any means.
