I was looking on ebay, and noticed his stuff was dirt cheap. I couldn't find any scouting reports on him, so I wanted to see if anyone knew why his golds are selling for $3.

I don't know why but at that price you can't really go wrong. Seems like a very low risk venture if you decided to go that route. He's young and still active so I don't see any reason why you wouldn't pick up his Gold Refractors at that price.

seems liek a lot of the guys from 06 have really fallen hard compared to when it 1st released.
jermaine mitchell and cyle hankerd can be had for pennies also compared to what they sold for at one time

I'm a big fan. He was a little above his level to start last year, but in the NYP he had a good run.

"I'm a big fan" = prospect death, by the way, at least when I'm the fan.

Don't know much about him but his stuff did get pretty hot for a small stretch before the season last year. I actually sold a Blue refractor of his for $21 dlvd. From the little I've read about him he seems like the typical guy with sexy power potential but very raw and pretty far from reaching his potential. Like it was said earlier though, $3 for a gold refractor of pretty much anyone is a good buy.

Yeah, I figured if I threw around $50 into his stuff, I could potentially make a killing with only $50 at risk.

Well, the good news is that right now, $50 will get you a lot of it.

I'm really not complaining as I sold a gold refractor for around $45 on ebay when product released in 2007.

I saw him play a couple of times last year. In the Midwest League, which is a notorious pitchers league he really struggled, he looked totally confused and struck out a lot. When he got demoted to the NYPL I could tell his attitude totally changed when I talked to him. He looked a lot more relaxed and ripped the ball a couple of times. As a fielder he is not athletic at all because he is a BIG boy. If he ever made it to the majors he will probably be a DH. A good comparison for Mcdade would be Frank Thomas.

BTW I own zero cards of him, I think I gave away a blue ref and ref to a FCB member.

I think that is an extremely generous comparison for him. McDade is a big kid (6'2, 250 lb) that should be hitting for big power... but doesn't. Bats for a poor average, and strikes out more than 1:1 a game. Only positive at this moment for him is that he is very young and has the size to produce, he just needs to use it. His card prices are great at the moment, and like others have said, may be worth a shot, and hope for a week on the Hot List.

I think it's far too early to say he can or can't do things. High school kid, first season with a wood bat, best pitching he's ever seen. I think we'll know a whole lot more at the end of this season. All we know is that he's big and has a ton of raw power.

I tabbed McDade as a sleeper after Bowman Draft came out last year picking up 95 base Bowman Chromes, 50 base Bowmans and 25 Bowman golds for $16.00 shipped and I also picked up an 80 count lot of base Bowman chromes just after the season ended for $9.99 BIN with free shipping to boot as apparently the seller gave up on him already despite him being only 19 years old. I figured that he is a low risk/high reward player given his age and power potential. As the other poster stated, just one week on the hot list and I could probably triple my money easily.
