Tim Raines was as good as or better than Roberto Clemente!!

Raines had more runs, more stolen bases, higher OBP, more walks (which are just as important as hits!) and was HBP more times.
Would it be too late to replace Clemente's plaque with Tim Raines'? Hopefully voters realize their mistake!!!!!!!!!!!

**EDIT** For you Sabermetric fools, Clemente's offensive WAR was 66.4 (58th All-Time) and Raines' was 65.7 (63rd All-Time). These players were pretty much identical!!

hard to rate players in different eras IMO . I'm bias to Clemente but will give Rock his dues

Eras don't matter. All-Star games don't matter. Gold Gloves don't matter. MVP voting don't matter. The humanitarian side don't matter. Longevity don't matter. Consistency don't matter. Nothing matters besides the stats. And stats don't lie. I am off to go pick up some Raines rookie cards before they jump up to $500-$1000 apiece. 1981 Topps, here I come!!

Uhm, no hits are more important. I'll take the guy with the 130 OPS+...

Clemente had as many career stolen bases as Billy Hamilton had by the 4th of July.

Wow Gwynn545, you're still butthurt that many baseball experts have been writing that Raines was more valuable than Gwynn and should be a hall of Famer?
Get over it and stop being so immature about it.

Can you please get a sense of humor? Half of Gwynn545's posts are sarcastic/funny. I'm sure he meant this thread as a joke.

Don't be an idiot. It's so unbecoming...

I found the stat comparisons interesting. I am a rock fan though.
