The gold ink 1/1
Thanks, I had to pony up the dough, but he doesn't get a lot of cardboard per year these days and I typically don't find more than 3-4 playing days cards per year so why not.Congrats on the 1/1! Thats a sweet score.

With the only other bidder having 0 feedback, I seriously doubt that sale goes through. BTW awesome collection, I always enjoy seeing player collectors of non super stars but I sure remember how dominant and fun to watch Wakefield was at times.Got hosed tonight, a 2004 Topps Black was ended, only the second I've seen in the decade or so I really started this collection. Waited til the end and dropped what no figured would have been a number was way over anyone else's bid. $150 and I wasn't the high bidder, it took a few precious seconds for me to understand the app was telling me I wasn't the high bidder. Final price was $159.50!!! J F'ing C! I can't believe it...
That's pretty cool!No cards unfortunately, but here's a pic of me on my way to the World Series here in LA. (Got this shirt custom made as I'm a fan of the other guy on the shirt.). Had the chance to give Wake one of them when I was visiting Boston earlier this year.

Surprise, surprise, I got a message from the seller stating the winning bidder informed him that he couldn't/wouldn't pay so I got a "second offer". I told him no way would I pay that much since I was essentially bidding against myself at that point. I made him more than a generous offer, particularly since I suspect he was the fake bidder I was up against. Hopefully I get the last Topps Black I need without further incident.
He relisted it BIN at what I told him I'd pay, he still made more money on that card than his wildest dreams could have imagined, now I'm just waiting for it to arrive. So how did that turn out??
Kinda like kissing your sister I suppose. At this point I don't mind over paying for my needs list because there are so few, but it agitates me that it was questionable like that.
After my brief hobby hiatus in the early 2000s I wanted to start a new collection centered around a current Red Sox player and ultimately chose him because he had been a mainstay on the roster, and the ultimate team guy, plus the knuckler is cool. Can I ask why you collect Wakefield?
Chicks dig the knuckler. :lol:After my brief hobby hiatus in the early 2000s I wanted to start a new collection centered around a current Red Sox player and ultimately chose him because he had been a mainstay on the roster, and the ultimate team guy, plus the knuckler is cool.
