Time to invest in Japanese cards

Tanner Scheppers, the 44th overall pick in this year's first-year player draft, is considering pitching in Japan next season.
That, or he's trying to put some pressure on the Rangers, who drafted him but have yet to meet his contract demands. Scheppers will throw in front of a handful of Japanese clubs "within a couple of weeks," according to MLB.com.

Maybe Strasburg going the same route

Wonder if Michael Crabtree has a Japanese football team he can play for?

This kind of stuff only screws the player. I think this could be another Matt Harrington situation again. Although, I guess it's a little different considering they don't have to go back into the draft if they play in Japan (I think anyway).

In Scheppers' case, I can understand this decision, seeing as how he's not bound by the 8/17 deadline and has until June 2010 to sign.
