Who knows what he will deliver on the field, but I was thrilled by this pick just because of the kid's story.

I'm someone who has always believed in the importance of academics and doing well in school; this guy is an amazing athlete as well as an exceptional student. Recently he received the Rhodes scholarship, one of the most prestigious academic scholarships available (on a related note, I discovered I MIGHT be eligible for this myself but I'm not certain about the study-abroad stuff). Rolle is also a very young philanthropist; in 2009 he started The Rolle Foundation to "benefit children and families in need" throughout the world. According to Wikipedia, he plans to open a free health clinic in his home country of the Bahamas.

Another thing about Rolle: as well as an NFL player, he eventually hopes to be a neurosurgeon. As many of you know I was operated on in 2005 for a benign brain tumor....so the neurosurgeon thing is pretty cool in my opinion.

All I can say is I would have been thrilled if the Dolphins got him that late.

If you don't like what you see on film then that is fine, but I thought the criticisms regarding his dedication were ridiculous. I think the ESPN guys were on point yesterday when speaking about that - they basically were saying to accomplish what he has takes a work-ethic and dedication that very few can even comprehend much less do. So how can you even question him in that regard?

I also thought it was funny when someone on ESPN pointed out - so what if Football is not the 1, 2 and 3 priority in his life. There are a lot of guys where Football is #1 and video games are #2, or partying is #2......so wouldn't you rather have a guy where rhodes scholar and neuro-science are #2/3. Hard to disagree with that

I think everyone's heard this story 8 trillion times, heh. Speaking of which, Rolle = Next Bill Clinton.

With that said, the Titans got a steal from a solely football perspective. At the combine, I don't think he was at his best, and the hip flexibility will come back.

I think with OTAs and training camps, he'll get back into game-shape and blow everyone's mind.

One of the best picks of the draft even if you completely discount his intelligence.

Video Games and Partying don't pay the bills, though. If Rolle's not bringing home at least a million per year, it'll be pretty tempting to switch professions.

Think about it: Getting hit in the head vs. Saving lives. Both'll end up paying around the same amount...

I'm thinking that if he doesn't get a big second contract, or it doesn't look like he will, the temptation to finish up (or start) med-school is definitely there.

I think the Titans did a GREAT job of getting great value with all their picks, and Rolle helps with that.
