Solid information with good records has finally surfaced that will allow the proof I need to ban Tom Murry.

I was forwarded information about a deal that went bad for which there can be no defense and Tom has been tossed.

If you had an active deal with him and would like to peruse it, I am sure you can find him if you look for him.

Welp. I am all about people reforming, but there's a difference between "reforming" and "trying to sweep it under the rug." Know it's not easy to toss someone on such little information, but I think you did the right thing.

Man.... this is crazy. I always heard weird stories about him since like 2007. It all started with some fake t-206's if I remember correctly. Then he screwed a bunch of people on the Topps.com message board under GarkoCollector....

I know he was already not welcome on Blowout..... He acted like he owned the place over here, commented on everybodys stuff and tried to make deals with everyone.

I myself was lucky enough to deal with him 2-3 times in the last 5 years with success.

Wow, crazy! When I first pulled my Strasburg Bowman Chrome Red Refractor Auto /5 he emailed me out of the blue and said he would be willing to redeem it for me and send it my way once it arrived. Sure glad Boomo was the guy members were recommending I go with!

It was only a matter of time, in fact surprised it lasted this long.

Care to share said proof? Or at least give some details?

I had one deal with him. my only negative

Dude that sucks. Maybe you can contact a mod to see if it can be cleared or something...IMO no need for your only negative to be "uniquely" given by a scammer/not good board member.

For the record I have not had any transactions with Tom Murry but the dude definitely tried to reach out for many deals in the past.

Cliff notes version.

Made a deal in March of 2003. Sent 39 cards that, at the time, we agreed to $3500 value. I sent overnight with insurance he claimed box was open and cards missing. Wouldn't send me my cards back cause according to him they were his. Didn't send me anything from his part of the deal. Found my cards on Ebay called him and the seller out on it but nothing happened. My PO sent two insurance claims to him, but he claimed he never got them. Threatened to take me to court for defrauding him. He wanted me to send more cards or cash to finish the deal & THEN he would send me what I was supposed to get. Screw that. Then changed his story once I found the cards on Ebay. Nothing was ever done on his end nor anything done on my behalf from the PO. I have emails and IMs saved from that deal. I wasn't sure if that was him here or not, but when I saw the thread last night by Titans I PMd him and got it going with Gilmore. Sorry if anyone here was taken by him due to my silence, but once I saw that thread I had to act.

If the negative was warranted then it has to stand, even if it did come from a now banned member.

Definitely makes sense then :) If that wasn't the case I hope Michael PMs about it. Either way, people know Tom's name from the past and if not in the now so hopefully any peeps that see it wouldn't think it as a bad transaction and such

So I'm not aware of how much you all knew...in fact I didn't even know about it until recently. Were you all aware of him trying to fake those Shoeless Joe Tobacco cards?

Edit- it was shoeless joe.
