Good! I had a few things I was tryingto sell, and he e-mailed me and was just plain rude about it and being a complete tool. Finally it got to the point where I said you know what, even if you're going to pay me more than what I'm asking I'm not going to sell to you simply because you're a jerk.

Yeah still stings to this day. And to think I was on here two years before he was and I could've or should've done this then when he showed up, but didn't know if it was him or not. I was only 24 at the time and it crushed my collection. Took about a year to recover mentally. I didn't do much with cards for quite a while. Two best cards in there were a Gretzky rookie and a Jason Kidd Ultimate Collection buyback auto of his SP Die-cut rookie #4/5. Plus 37 other cards that were nice. His yahoo IM name was autographcollector

I am shocked. I had a thread going about giving a member a bunch of cards with good value to enjoy that may have hit tough times. It was mentioned that I should just sell them and donate the money to charity. Tom sent me a pm saying he will sell them for me and donate the money to a charity of our choice (i dont sell on ebay). Seemed really legit and I was prepared to do it. After further thought, I just donated some money to his charity and mine, then decided I will keep doing giveaways here over time. Glad I did now.

It was his thread about condition of some vintage that I read that got me mad as a hornet all over again. Had to do something. Sure am glad I didn't hold my breath waiting for that schumk to do something decent about the whole thing.

One thing that I don't get is that there was little "hiding" of who he was, what his former username was, etc. He threw it all out there, and all of the stories from other boards were brought up here multiple times.

It's a shame that people got stuck, but it wasn't as though Tom was really hiding.

You mean his signature (Wanted poster) that was ripped up by cgilmo (The Sherriff)?

Did a few trades/paypal deals with him the past month or 2... Luckily, I didn't get hosed and he sent me his end of the deal. I did notice he was acting really sketchy though trying to complete the trade, and he did his best to make sure I couldn't see his home mailing address on his shipping labels.

I never saw said signature. If I had I would've acted MUCH sooner. Trust me. Just hope that no one got hit because I didn't know it was him. If so I apologise.

Nevermind. It was in his signature and Chris deleted it because he had no proof of Tom being a scammer.

No, I removed it because having something like that in a sig derails any thread he posts in.

It's like hey this thread is now about a scammer every time he enters one.

Cliff notes version.

Made a deal in March of 2003. Sent 39 cards that, at the time, we agreed to $3500 value. I sent overnight with insurance he claimed box was open and cards missing. Wouldn't send me my cards back cause according to him they were his. Didn't send me anything from his part of the deal. Found my cards on Ebay called him and the seller out on it but nothing happened. My PO sent two insurance claims to him, but he claimed he never got them. Threatened to take me to court for defrauding him. He wanted me to send more cards or cash to finish the deal & THEN he would send me what I was supposed to get. Screw that. Then changed his story once I found the cards on Ebay. Nothing was ever done on his end nor anything done on my behalf from the PO. I have emails and IMs saved from that deal. I wasn't sure if that was him here or not, but when I saw the thread last night by Titans I PMd him and got it going with Gilmore. Sorry if anyone here was taken by him due to my silence, but once I saw that thread I had to act.

~AJ

Holy crap so he owes you currently $3,500?

Well yeah, but I never saw any nor will I ever.

What state does Tom live in?

It's a shame that people got stuck, but it wasn't as though Tom was really hiding.

He never fessed up to anything. Not hiding but also never holding any accountability. While I feel he was "reformed", I also feel it was only due to the information about him that was out there. One of of those "I'm sorry" but only becasue you were caught. He knew people were tracking him and every new name he came up with on a board, he was outed. His aliases and numerous addresses were publically displayed. He had no choice but to be "good". But for how long is the question.

Topps MB Shoeless Joe thread- He stated it wasn't him. Someone got in his PB acct and his Topps acct and posted. Happened to post a reprint he bought on ebay.

At one point stated that (HOFauto...) PB acct. was not his. But it had the same Garko collation pic he was posting on boards. Same link and everything.

Tiger Woods signed golf balls- Sold fakes. Claimed to give refunds. Know of at least 1 that never got one.

Has 10+ aliases. More than that in addresses.

At one point claimed he that there was another Tom Mur...spelled 1 letter different that was the "bad" guy. Well there is/was a collector by that name on BMB. But that person is in a totally different location. Is/was a active member and never saw any problems with that person. Unless he was scamming and having the cards sent coincidentally to places near the other Tom.

Tried to scam a trader on the BMB until he learned that trader was a Mod. Mod talked to his GF and I was told she was trying to cover for him, trying to make the Mod feel sorry for him, talking about disorders or "issues".

He was ran off a hacking site due to his lies. Caught telling made up stories.

I remember he was trying to get some free games or a laptop from a board. That didn't end too well for him.

There's so much more on him. Scammed so many people. I was never taken by him. Just started researching after he posted the Shoeless Joe found in a tin thread.

FWIW- He might of been reformed, but for never resolving the numerous issues he caused, good riddance.
